Our robotics platform team is based in a dedicated robotics facility in Hullavington UK. We work in tight multi-disciplinary groups and push new technologies from academia and research into cutting edge features for consumer products. We are expanding our projects and technology interests, and so we need new team members to join us!


About the role

This role is a senior technical position in the Robotics Platform Group with accountability for leading the definition of embedded electronics architectures, and solution selection for mobile robotics projects.  

The responsibilities include:

  • Leading the optimisation of existing architectures, and the creation of revolutionary new architectures. 

  • Working with Systems, Safety, Software & Mechanical Architects to optimise the delivery of functions across disciplines. 

  • Approving requirements, specifications, and solutions for electronic assemblies / sub-teams. 

  • Contributing to, reviewing, and supporting the delivery of electronics work packages including architecture, sensing, and safety systems. 

  • Supporting the implementation of product safety concepts and safety related electronic control systems within the electronics domain. 

About you

Besides a genuine passion for your craft and a love of products, you will hold expert level capabilities across engineering alongside the ability to demonstrate experience in several of the following areas: 

  • Product development across the whole lifecycle. 

  • Leading the definition of electronics architectures for complex / mechatronic systems. 

  • Leading the development of hardware electronics. 

  • Leading the development of firmware development. 

  • An understanding of delivering Protective Electronic Controls & Single Fault Analysis (knowledge of IEC 60335-1, IEC 60335-2, UL 1017, UL 2595 desirable).
