Our robotics platform team is based in a dedicated robotics facility in Hullavington UK. We work in tight multi-disciplinary groups and push new technologies from academia and research into cutting edge features for consumer products. We are expanding our projects and technology interests, and we need new members to join our incredible and innovative team!

About the role.

We are looking for sensor engineers at all levels, and with experience in one of multiple robotics sensor modalities including motion estimation, obstacle avoidance, depth sensing, cameras, acoustics, and electro-magnetics.

Typical role responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with Electronics, Software, Systems & Product Architects to define and integrate sensing system into next generation Dyson robotics products.
  • Specifying scope of technical work and dependencies, providing updates on assigned work package and participating in design reviews.
  • Technical authority for the design, build, test and certification of sensing sub-systems.

About you.

  • Experience in defining, refining, and interpreting requirements.
  • An understanding of the physical characterisation of sensors, analogue signal conditioning and digital processing design techniques.
  • Experience in conducting technical assessments (design/model, implement and test) of possible solutions against the requirements to make balanced and informed decisions.
  • Track record of delivering complex electronics systems to production.
  • Knowledge of analogue and digital electronics fundamentals.
  • Competence in data visualisation and statistical analysis using MATLAB or similar tool.
  • An understanding of delivering Protective Electronic Controls & Single Fault Analysis (knowledge of IEC 60335-1, IEC 60335-2, UL 1017, UL 2595 desirable)
