To unlock opportunities that lie within the 60 million households across CEED, Dyson has made the region a strategic priority and we initiated a transformation journey to increase investment and resource in order to triple the business over five years. We now have momentum and CEED will continue to be one of the fastest evolving areas of the Dyson world in the coming years.

This Business Development Manager role will lead rapid expansion of one of two country portfolios across Eastern Europe and Central Asia. This one will cover more than ten countries via six distributors, including Czech Republic, Hungary and Croatia. Our CEED business doubled between 2020 and 2022 but we expect to triple from 2022 and 2026.

You will be responsible for each market P&L and as the primary channel between Dyson and distributor, you will work across all Dyson functions, aligning and negotiating outcomes that support delivery of targets.

Accountabilities

  • Establish market strategies based on overall CEED vision to maximise growth

  • Develop and execute well defined, time-bound business plans that deliver long and short-term goals. Align CEED functional teams (including Category, Media, Retail, PR, eCom, Finance & supply chain), and distributor partners to those.

  • Assess performance with academic rigour: review/challenge vs agreed KPIs

  • Hold to account distributors and Dyson through pay for performance culture

  • Ensuring development of dedicated ‘Dyson’ resource in distributor organisations to facilitate business growth

  • Partner with Distributors to ensure delivery of granular joint business plans with key retailers

  • Lead, develop, coach, and motivate a diverse team of distributors to deliver excellence. Embed commercial awareness within distributor teams and the wider CEED organisation

  • Work hand in glove with Finance teams to drive annual cycle of Budget & Latest Estimates and own Monthly distributor reviews

  • Translate market plans to volume requirements and work with supply chain to optimise delivery

  • Build market intelligence and insight through distributor review and through physical market visits. Ensure this feeds our Category plans

  • Borrow from the best of Dyson knowledge

  • Fully capitalise on the resource available to CEED in Amsterdam, tapping into the knowledge and expertise of support functions – including Legal, CoE, supply chain

  • Celebrate and communicate CEED successes to the wider organisation

About you

  • Manage complexity by prioritising rigorously and ensuring teams stay laser focused on key plays

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a commercially facing role – sales, account management, business development

  • Strong experience of business planning, negotiation, cross functional working and an ability to get buy in from partners and stakeholders for your plans

  • Able to work effectively in a diverse, matrix organisation with high levels of ambiguity, complexity and change

  • Building network fast with a diverse range of people and skill sets

  • Excellent commercial awareness and decision making based on sales targets

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to balance interests of all stakeholders

  • Self-starter with high energy who enjoys working autonomously, demonstrating energy and passion, breakthrough thinking, developing new opportunities
