About the role
We are looking to hire a Senior Air Quality Scientist to join our Fluid Treatment Research team. The Fluid Treatment team is a multi-skilled group of scientists, engineers and technicians responsible for developing new filtration/purification technology. The team works on current Dyson product categories of fans, purifiers, heaters and humidifiers as well as working to create entirely new product ranges. In this varied role you will be responsible for conducting collaborative scientific research that advances our understanding of indoor and outdoor air quality
Key Accountabilities
Design and conduct experimental plans in AQ research
Analyse complex datasets from multiple sources to uncover meaningful AQ insight
Collaborate with academic research partners from leading universities
Simulation of AQ in multiple environments
Critical technical review of relevant literature
Convert fundamental understanding of air quality to concrete recommendations for sensing and purification requirements in Dyson products.
Support practical evaluation of AQ sensors in Dyson products
About you
Essential
Qualified to Master’s level in a scientific or technical subject (or equivalent industrial experience).
Experience of working in AQ research in academia or industry.
Able to lead collaboration between internal and external stakeholders
Great communicator with proven ability to translate deep technical knowledge to a non-specialist audience
Data processing and statistical analysis using programs such as MatLab and Minitab.
Clear and concise technical report writing
Ability to prioritise work and deliver to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Experience setting up and working with air quality sensors
Desirable
Experience in simulation of indoor environments using software such as CONTAM, Ansys, EnergyPlus, TAItherm, Comsol and MatLab
Working at the interface of consumer science, technology and epidemiology.
