About the role
The Machine Learning team is responsible for delivering tangibly intelligent devices across all current, and future, product categories at Dyson.
Working alongside researchers, engineers, and designers, we blend cutting-edge machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques with an in-depth understanding of biomedical imaging, inventing novel solutions to 'impossible' problems.
You will be responsible for designing and conducting scientifically rigorous experiments and trials utilising the latest biomedical imaging systems to collect high quality data. Using your expertise in biomedical image analysis and signal processing you will analyse these data along with supporting material to derive valuable new insights applicable to early stage technology development at Dyson. Working with design engineers, you will demonstrate successful deployment of this technology within fully functioning prototypes, while ensuring your work can be robustly transferred to downstream engineering teams. You will play a pivotal role in a rapidly growing team, inventing and enabling core functionality in products that most can’t even imagine.
Doctoral or MSc/MEng degree with industrial experience, in Biomedical Imaging; Biomedical Physics; or a closely aligned field.
Strong signal processing and image processing background, ideally with experience in the analysis of biochemical spectra (GC-MS, HPLC, Raman, etc.) and multi-dimensional datasets.
Expert knowledge of the development and implementation of machine learning algorithms.
Prior experience applying machine learning and data science techniques in a distributed processing environment against large quantities of data, for example AWS, GCP, Azure, would be desirable.
Proficiency with deep learning libraries such as Theano, Keras, TensorFlow, Caffe and Torch would be beneficial.
Strong programming capabilities, able to quickly prototype robust proof-of-concept code in Python or MATLAB. Working knowledge of C/C++ desirable.
Experience in the field of applying computer vision/machine learning in a real-time environment is highly desirable.
Strong presentation skills, able to effectively and engagingly disseminate complex technical information to project teams and executive level management.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional, multi-discipline, geographically dispersed teams.
Passionate about continual learning and personal development. Keen to share knowledge, new methods and techniques with the rest of the team.
