About the Role
The purpose of this position is to lead the Floorcare category across Australia & New Zealand. The role requires a combination of strong commercial Category and Brand leadership capability with an expectation to develop and deliver strategies and tactics that will significantly scale awareness and penetration of product, build consideration and drive conversion quickly into sales, with sustainable growth over the long term.
Main responsibilities include but not limited to:-
Develop and/or evolve longer term (5Y+) vision for the category
Lead annual growth strategy for the category, synthesising market and internal factors to balance penetration, frequency, or average sell price (ASP) focus
Lead development of annual range strategy, including product mix, pricing, consumer/product segmentation and forecasting. Be the go-to person for all new product/range queries for the category
Lead development of annual go to market plans in line with the annual category strategy with the support and partnership of the cross-functional team
Lead annual strategic allocation of BBI in line with category strategy ensuring past learnings are taken into account
Ability to synthesize Group strategy with ANZ insights to deliver plans that are Globally aligned with strong local relevance
Lead development of the category’s communication strategy and campaigns
Develop inspiring full year communications brief (and campaign briefs where appropriate) using an integrated approach, steering the creative, PR, digital, social, retail and brand experience team and ensuring that all touch points align with the overall category strategy
Lead agency briefing and ensure that agency is held to account in delivering against the brief
Custodian of the cross-channel category view, ensuring that category strategy is being consistently implemented across both Dyson sales channels – D2C and 3P Retail
Build effective working relationships and influence stakeholders with Group and Leadership members to ensure alignment on plans
Ensure that local ANZ category, consumer, category and Dyson-specific insights are consistently fed up to Group stakeholders so that overall Group approach takes ANZ learnings into account
Work with sales to deliver retailer/trade launch presentations to gain buy-in for ranging
Lead overall business needs for consumer, category and shopper insights, to convert into meaningful local strategies
To be successful in this role, you will have excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills with the ability to juggle a heavy workload and focused on delivering to plan. You are results and solutions orientated and can demonstrate a passion for Dyson products, understanding why and how they are different.
Previous skills & experience:-
Marketing or related degree (Business/Marketing)
Solid experience demonstrating brand and category management
Demonstrated experience across product and brand through NPD launches, range planning
Previous experience in a matrixed organisation with a diverse local cross-functional team and Global stakeholders preferred
Previous experience in a similar role
Previous experience in FMCG or consumer electronics desirable
Strong analytical skills, sound commercial acumen
Proven ability to develop talent, adapting coaching style and approach to the needs of the individual
