Today, its digital motor powered cordless vacuums, robots, Airblade hand dryers, bladeless fans, humidifiers, purifiers and heaters are powering its growth in 75 countries around the world. 2015 saw the addition of Jake Dyson Light to the portfolio, and in April 2016 Dyson took its biggest leap yet, revolutionising the world of Beauty with the launch of the Dyson Supersonic™ Hairdryer and in 2018 Dyson Airwrap.
This role will work across all functions, with a primary focus on the roll-out of our retail footprint in key cities. It will lead a 2020 strategically high priority project for GB and will report into the Finance Director.
20% of Dyson owners live within a 30 mile radius of Dyson store on Oxford St in London, with stronger representation from our Environmental and Personal Care owners, making it strategically important for our newer categories. This represents a huge opportunity for us to exploit both where our high propensity to purchase owners are as well as pivoting to room penetration and multiple category ownership
As the lead for the GB City initiative you will lead the scaling of the city model to different sized cities. Key to this will be working with our internal analytics teams and external brokers to identify new target cities for Dyson to build a presence in. Building on the success of the Oxford Street store, this role will also lead the roll-out of new Dyson stores in the cities we identify as strategically important, working with our internal retail team and our external property advisors.
The role will rely on the ability to manage key stakeholders effectively across a matrix organisation through developing outstanding relationships with others. You will develop strategies that support the successful store roll-out as well as managing the core activity to ensure that we can answer the proof of concept. You will also work with the marketing and retail teams to set and implement investment strategies across owned store and retail partner stores to drive awareness and performance of the Dyson brand within the target cities.
This role will require strong operational capability to draw insight and action to enable the team to react at pace to trends as well as pro-actively shaping future activity.
SkillsYou’ll need to have:
- Min 3 years experience of working in a high performing commercial retail function
- Operational experience of defining and delivering retail strategy
- Project management of multi functional initiatives
- Commercial – sales/marketing experience
- Proven delivery of business results Working knowledge of the retail industry, either with an electrical manufacturer or other
