Position Summary

Dyson SEA spans 6 distinct markets and is growing rapidly.  Our footprint has continued to expand in 2021 as we have launched the Vietnamese market.  Increased growth has led to increased demand on quality financial analysis and insights. You will play a critical role in providing the insight and business partnering needed for Dyson SEA to continue its ascent.

Function Overview

Being Finance in Dyson means:

  • To show integrity, empathy and respect towards Dyson people, owners, partners and products;
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and see beyond problems and find solutions;
  • Be open for transformation to evolve with the business;
  • Ensure that proper accounting and control are in place to support as we scale our business;
  • Be compliant with relevant regulation and laws; and
  • Business partner with internal and external stakeholders such as Distributors, Customers, Government etc.

Key accountabilities:

1.         Management of Financial Performance

  • Manage budget and LE process to ensure profit targets are secured, risks and opportunities are identified and understood, deviances are identified, including leading the monthly performance review with leadership teams
  • Develop within the team the level of appraisal over advertising and terms/promotional spend to ensure that we generate as much value as possible whilst benchmarking performance against other territories within Dyson
  • Define and deliver KPI’s ie timely, accurate, informative and user-friendly financial information, analysis and projections as needed for the leadership team
  • Identify risks and opportunities through robust market share analysis. Understand pricing in the market, analyse and challenge product portfolio vs competition.
  • Provide financial commentary and variance analysis on the monthly results vs. LE, ensure customers and channel profitability are met, highlighting risks and opportunities.
  • Plays a critical role by business partnering with category and sales team in the annual Category Range planning and pricing process to ensure our assortment and portfolio remains competitive
  • Manage the distributors and channel profitability to ensure profit targets are met.

2.         Leadership and management

  • Lead and develop one direct report to ensure that they are developed and challenged in their roles to maximize their performance, motivation and potential
  • Maintain strong working relationships across all stakeholders with Dyson.  This includes, but is not limited to Group/Regional Finance, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, HR and Customer Service.
  • Challenge existing methodologies; ensure processes and best practices to maximize efficiency and increase profitability whenever possible. 

           

3.         Fulfil other duties as required

  • Relish the opportunity to pick up new activities that all fall broadly in the purpose of the role
  • Fix things that you can see need fixing
  • Identify problems and find solutions     

What experience do you need?

  • Experience and Education
    • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required.  MBA or qualified accountancy is a plus.
    • 7-12 years financial experience preferably in a commercial context
  • Skills and Competencies
    • Able to work independently
    • Strong team player.
    • Strong core Finance and Accounting skills.
    • Methodical business and financial planning capability.
    • High level of commercial acumen.
    • Excellent personal and business communication/presentation skills.
    • Self-starter with lots of initiative; ability to manage multiple stakeholders & secure buy-in at all levels
    • Delivery focused, and prepared to roll up your sleeves to make things happen
    • Demonstrated strategic & analytical capabilities
    • Enjoys working in a fast paced & dynamic environment
