About the role

We are looking for digital savvy communication expert who can lead digital/ social media PR across Japan.  The successful candidate will have outstanding understanding on broader earned and owned media in the digital/ social media world.  This incumbent will have an innate ability to understand Dyson and Japan consumers, weaving relevant stories for consumer with Dyson identity. Having strong expertise on digital PR, engaging younger target consumers focusing on beauty will be key area to focus.

TEAM ENVIRONMENT

  • Working day to day in a Communications team both in Japan and SG (hub).
  • Working directly with international teams of UK (Global Internal Communications team), Asia Pacific and others.

Main Responsibilities

Digital/ social PR STRATEGY - Plan and implement the communications strategy for Japan with a focus on telling stories around our problem-solving core technology, our products, our people and places and the Dyson philosophy. Effective budget management.

REPUTATION BUILDING – Transform Dyson awareness as vacuum company to premium beauty tech company, via extensive digital/ social PR campaign. Keep right balance between Dyson’s reputation as a global technology company with superior performance and to be desirable beauty brand. Create share of voice to contribute business growth in beauty/ hair care sector. Lead other category social PR project as needed

ENGAGEMENT – Build engagement with right media, influencer, KOL and expert to make brand equity with credentialing. spectrum of media to ensure consistently high-level coverage.

About you (Skills/Experiences/Competencies)

  • Proven track record of delivering social media PR, preferably in beauty/ tech field
  • Agility to adopt to new trend and transform conventional ways of working
  • Ability to set direction and drive organization to adopt new ways of PR
  • Proactiveness to come up with solution from out-of-box thinking and strong business mindset
  • Strong team player, organized, assertive, prepared to see through plans and overcome objections
  • Intelligent, quick-thinking, alert
  • Literate with good Japanese /English written / verbal communication skills
