The Communications team creates and manages our narrative. Working closely with senior stakeholders, they deploy our stories strategically through press, online media and internal comms to build our reputation. Our high-profile reputation helps grow our business by indirectly selling our technology and positions Dyson as a great place to work. The team is responsible for a range of communications from public relations and business, products and launches to internal messaging and events.

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic and well-organized Senior Communications Manager to develop and support the development and execution of Dyson’s approach to Beauty Communications across the China Mainland. As a key member of the GC Communications team, this individual will be responsible for driving all beauty related planning, execution and creative ideation, both virtual and physical, of all our Beauty NPD and Non-NPD communications campaigns. A particular focus will be on setting up campaigns that enable Dyson to sustain social and media coverage beyond new products as well as wider day-to-day market support.

Key responsibilities

Be responsible for all NPD and Non-NPD campaigns for Beauty to support China Mainland with the localization of planning, execution and creative ideation by working closely with Group Product Comms teams. A particular focus will be on campaigns that enable Dyson to sustain social and media coverage in the region beyond new products. Demonstrate high business acumen and understanding of Dyson and Dyson technology. Provide strategic communications advice related to Beauty to the China Leadership team. Storytelling: Support markets in creating relevant storytelling and communications materials to talk to media and influencers on a year-round basis - based on a strong editorial calendar. Drive and implement regional press strategy and event and award approach by knowing well of regional beauty editors and media companies. Partner beauty development director and China beauty category, COE team, to deliver communications strategies to deploy in a 360 way. Oversee product related reactive communications, including issue management and Beauty competitor activity. Close connection with external facing teams (esp. Customer service and retail teams) will be necessary to ensure consistency in communication. Partner with media team to monitor campaign measurement to know what media are saying about our products, and understand the impact and effectiveness of our campaigns. Work with marketing team to build and host regional event activations, both online and offline. Ensure all local Beauty events are well attended and high impact, while adhering to global guidelines. Work closely with beauty category team and global team to implement a regional strategic direction of influencers across the Beauty space, ensuring that markets work with the right profiles, supporting teams with local narratives and content briefs. Coordinate Dyson’s approach to engaging with professional stylists within EMEA. Ensure each styling ambassador is abreast of Dyson’s latest technology and narratives and ultimately involved in the way we communicate our beauty technology to media, stylists and influencers.

Above you

  • Bachelor’s degree or above, more than 8 years PR & Communication and owned social management experience in Fashion and Beauty Industry.
  • A solid relationship and detailed knowledge of China Mainland beauty media, KOL, and makeup artist across different platforms. with Media, KOL, and Makeup Artist.
  • Good knowledge of brand communication planning experience preferred.
  • Excellent storytelling ability, brilliant interpersonal skills and robust commercial understanding.
  • Confident, collaborative, and communicative with a desire to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in oral and written English & Chinese.
