About the role
We are currently seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Data & Analytics Team in our world class Research Design and Development department. We are responsible for global reporting and analysis of projects during product development. The team play a vital role in supporting the engineering function of over 4000 technicians, scientists and engineers worldwide.

The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the reporting needs of the business stakeholders are met. They will be tasked with using advanced coding to automate reporting and other analytical solutions. This will involve learning and supporting a Report Automation system that uses Python code to create pixel perfect PowerPoint reports and allows users to interface with the reports using an internally designed web solution. The role has a great mix of senior stakeholder interaction and technical code development.
The role requires a candidate who displays excellent business focus and sound technical skills.
Support and maintain existing reports and dashboards
Capture clear requirements direct from business stakeholders
Iterate report solutions by design, build and test methodology
Develop great relationships with business teams by fully empathising with their needs
Create analytical solutions that impress, inspire and become essential tools
Excellent communication skills & a creative problem solving approach
Strong Knowledge of Python and specifically the Flask and Pandas modules, knowledge of python-pptx is a bonus
Knowledge of SQL
Desire and ability to “glue” systems together
Graphic or artistic skills to present data in a compelling way
