Dyson Connectivity is responsible for defining a world-class Connected strategy, product and owner experience in the Dyson Link App, to help take this amazing technology to market, explaining how our machines are different and their benefits. We never share the stage, where we demonstrate our machines and their superiority we win. We are also responsible for the development and delivery of the Connected features within the Dyson Link App and Cloud.

Connectivity will rely heavily on harnessing the power of data to provide insights back to the various areas of the business – NPI, RDD, Customer Services, Owner experience and GTM teams, to help make data-based decisions. Connectivity will also help us provide a more agile, mission-based operating model. One which will enable us to continue our journey but in a more structured and efficient way.

We are on an exciting data journey where our emphasis is on providing a better user experience for our Owners. To this end, we are investing heavily in bringing together machine, app and owner data to bring bespoke recommendations – whether it be help/support/guidance/repair/parts/machines – to our owners when they need it. 

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Data Product and working closely with the Product Owners and Data Scientists, you will:

  • Work with New Product Innovation teams & Product owners to understand early-stage product and feature propositions to assess the impact on our existing and future Data Products

  • Own the Data product requirements for Digital Features

  • Manage Data Product feasibility

  • Manage Data Product milestones and phase reviews

  • Create & define Data Product requirements

  • Prioritise tasks for Data Product Delivery across multiple teams

  • Be responsible for management and delivery of Data product Features, Epics & User Stories

  • Ensure cross-team alignment on tasks across multiple backlogs

  • Manage expectations of Data Product delivery with key stakeholders

  • Manage data insight requirements from connected feature delivery

  • Work to Lean & Agile practices, supporting teams as we continually look to improve flow

  • Provide concise reporting and communication on each data product roadmap, planning and delivery

  • Deliver to the data strategy to ensure success of connectivity core KPI’s

About you

  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills

  • Comfortable with, and resilience to, a high change environment

  • Excellent personal organisation, with proven ability to take requirements, generate a plan, and execute against it

  • Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team on challenging project outcomes 

  • Strong commercial awareness and working knowledge of the objectives of different business functions within a large organisation - what their respective roles are, and how they typically relate

  • Natural tendency to think Data first

  • Ability to influence others and communicate the impact at senior levels across the organisation

  • Comfortable in engaging with multiple stakeholders (technical and non-technical)

Essential:

  • Experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or software development

  • Experience with data/analytics related technologies (e.g. SQL, Python, R, Google Cloud Platform, AWS) 

  • Experience of creating detailed tasks to deliver Data Products

  • Working knowledge of key tools - including Confluence / Jira / Stash / Bitbucket / GitHub

  • Working knowledge of data platforms, analytical tools and approaches

  • Working knowledge of data architecture & data engineering

  • Demonstrable experience building effective partnerships with colleagues from a variety of technical and non-technical disciplines

  • Aptitude for project planning and execution, from initiation to completion

  • Experience pitching/presenting to senior stakeholders 

  • Comfortable discussing complex technical requirements with both technical and non-technical colleagues

  • Ability to influence others and communicate the impact at senior levels across the organisation

  • Good understanding of model development and basic understanding of Machine learning operations.

Desirable:

  • A Bachelor’s or advanced degree is preferred, or equivalent experience

  • Experience of Service Now, Advanced Excel, Visio, Sharepoint, Teams

  • Knowledge of TensorFlow

  • Experience in Data visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker)
