You will spend most of your time working on a brand-new category for Dyson, working on fresh concepts. This is an exiting role working right at the forefront of our new product in an upstream environment

In this role you will be responsible for the specification, design, build and documentation of the electrical aspects of custom test rigs which will be utilised for a variety of research experiments.

The successful candidate will need to work closely with other members of the Research Department to understand and support future test and project requirements.  Your role will include working with a range of electrical systems (low and high voltage) as well as battery operated circuits. To achieve this, it’s essential you have knowledge and experience developing these types of systems and the regulations that control their safe construction and use.

  • Working knowledge of at least the machinery directive, the low voltage directive, the EMC directive, and circuits containing batteries.

  • Familiar with the requirements of PUWER and other relevant safety regulations.

  • Familiar with software packages required for electrical system design & documentation.

  • Experienced in technical writing, to include Operation & Maintenance manuals for delivered equipment.

  • Skilled in the use and incorporation of Microprocessors and PLCs.

  • Competent with 3D CAD – such as Siemens NX.
