About the role

Senior Engineering Managers are responsible for overseeing multiple engineering teams, ensuring the successful delivery of complex and high-impact technology projects. Leveraging their extensive technical expertise and leadership skills, they foster a high performance culture and drive strategic prioritization. They are accountable for the quality and timeliness of the work produced by the teams under their supervision.

As experienced people leaders, Senior Engineering Managers focus on elevating their team’s capabilities through recruiting, developing and retaining talent, while continuously improving processes and tools.  Collaborating with cross-functional teams and senior management, they make influential recommendations and decision to develop user-focused solution that meet design and project goals, demonstrating a broader impact on the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse team of engineers and develop them both technically and professionally

  • Development of power and control hardware for driving brushless electric motors and battery management systems

  • Planning to ensure robust solutions are developed to meet project deadlines

  • Ensure technical solutions are delivered to the cost target with the highest level of reliability and quality

  • Development of processes/procedures

  • influence cross-functional teams to use best practice to resolve challenges

About you

  • Degree or Ph.D in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from an internationally recognized University alongside significant industrial experience

  • Proven experience on managing a team of highly talented engineers

  • Proven track record in developing and delivering Engineering solutions

  • In depth knowledge and experience in the design and development of Rechargeable Battery Systems, Motor Drives / Inverters / SMPS / for high volume consumer electronics or white goods.

  • Detailed understanding of device characteristics specifically IGBTs, MOSFETs and emerging technologies in in real-world applications.

  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate to a wide range of audiences including senior management.

  • Circuit simulation and analysis expertise (e.g. SiMetrix, SPICE or Matlab)

  • Experience with the use and configuration of PCB and schematic tools.

  • Experience on product development for large production volumes

  • Proven ability to design products for compliance with worldwide EMC/EMI standards.

  • Knowledge and experience of thermal management and design.

  • Credible expert in their field and able to provide expert technical direction.

  • Possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Ability to motivate, influence and mentor others.
