The Financial Control Team is the core finance business partners for Dyson’s RDD & OPS functions. The team work with these functions on financial planning and analysis, management reporting, process and systems controls to assist them in delivering key operation objectives. The team also oversees the financial control environment of Dyson’s in house manufacturing business which has operations across multiple countries. The team’s goal is to develop and maintain a flexible and collaborative working relationship with the stakeholders to achieve all common objectives while at the same time maintain a highly effective control environment of the RDD & OPS organisation.
The Senior Finance Analyst - Financial Planning & Analyst partners with the Global RDD & OPS Function to support the budgeting, forecasting and month end processes. The incumbent will also work with these functions on day to day basis to resolve operations issues and provide advise on treatment of spend. From time to time, the incumbent will also work on ad hoc analysis and projects to provided insightful analysis for decision-making by the senior management function in Dyson
The role has good exposure to the Dyson Global RDD & OPS Functions and allows the incumbent a great opportunity to develop a thorough understanding of Dyson Operations Business.
About the role
The role reports into the Senior Finance Manger - Financial Planning & Analyst.
Business Partner with RDD & OPS functions to provide finance support on opex spend
Involve in month end close and reporting activities
Involved in yearly budget and monthly forecast activities
Collaborate with other support functions Finance Business Partners to consolidate a complete set of management financials for RDD & OPS
Work closely with Group Finance team to ensue group initiatives and objectives are met
Prepare analysis on an ad hoc basis where required
Review of key processes to drive process improvements
Part/Full Qualified Accountant or equivalent qualification with experience in financial planning, analysis.
At least 4 to 6 years of relevant work experience
Experience in rigorous financial analysis and comfortable with large database
Excellent analytical ability and Excel spreadsheet skills
Ability to understand concepts and ideas quickly and model data in meaningful ways
Naturally Inquisitive - comfortable and willing to interrogate existing process/systems with large and incomplete data but accepts that not every query has an exact answer
Proactive in proposing ideas to challenge status quo
Flexible and adaptable to a constant changing environment
Ability to remain calm and independent when faced with sensitive and difficult situations
Experience in a procurement or supplier management an advantage
Experience in working across functions and cultures
Excellent personal and business presentation skills, in particular the presentation of financial information to non-finance managers and directors
Assertive and able to influence upwards and peers
Good spoken & written English
Has strong sense of operational discipline and ability to meet deadlines
