About the role

The Senior Finance Manager supports the e-commerce leadership team with insightful performance analysis and performance-enhancing recommendations for Dyson’s e-commerce channels. The role will collaborate with senior business and finance stakeholders across group and markets to (i) provide insightful performance analysis, (ii) drive planning & accounting governance, (iii) analyse and support decision-making, (iv) identify and help execute profitability-improving initiatives and (v) develop global finance tools and best practices. 

Performance analysis & insight

  • Analyse and effectively communicate key drivers of financial performance across the global e-commerce business, clearly articulate risks & opportunities and support business stakeholders with mitigation plans to achieve their targets.

  • Lead the financial performance reviews for e-commerce within executive forums, taking ownership for insights and analysis. Bring insight of performance within the context of the wider business to the table for business stakeholders to understand the e-commerce channel’s relative performance.

  • Increase the depth of channel analysis to elevate performance understanding and insight across marketplace platforms and

  • Lead the development of accessories and graded goods reporting globally, building visibility of performance and working with stakeholders globally to maximise the financial benefit from their sales.

  • Have finger on the pulse of global e-commerce trading performance at all times, collaborating closely with analytics teams in group and markets to evaluate financial impact of changes in e-commerce equation across and marketplace channels.

Global governance & capabilities

  • Partner with group and market finance to ensure that the global e-commerce P&L has a high standard of accounting integrity, completeness, and accuracy; drive consistency and comparability across markets.

  • Contribute to the centre of expertise by creating e-commerce finance know-how and tools, identify best practices, and promote the execution of such practices globally.

Business partnering

  • Be an advisor within the centre of expertise for the various e-commerce business & financial models, providing strategic consultation to markets on how they can leverage new ways of working to scale e-commerce in a more profitable and capital efficient way

About you

  • Commercial acumen, with the ability to understand business models and their financial implications, coupled with IT literacy

  • Strong communication skills, with ability to influence and interpret financial information to provide insight to senior management

  • Energetic and engaging with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude; a problem solver

  • Flexible and willing to adapt priorities based on changing stakeholder needs, proactively manages expectations around the quality and timing of delivery across multiple stakeholders

  • Ability to understand and apply key accounting principles

  • A successful self-starter, comfortable working with ambiguity, with a relentless drive for continuous improvement

  • Experience collaborating with multi-functional and diverse stakeholders, with a willingness to work across global time-zones if required

  • Experience in developing new ways of working and driving global alignment to them

  • Experience within an e-commerce business highly desirable
