The In House Manufacturing (IHM) Finance Team is the core finance business partners for Dyson’s IHM Operations function.  IHM Functions comprises the global manufacturing activities of Dyson Digital Motors (DDM), Heaters and Energy Storage (ES).  The IHM Finance team works with these functions to assist them in delivering key operation objectives. The team’s goal is to develop and maintain a flexible and collaborative working relationship with the stakeholders to achieve all common objectives of the IHM Operations Function.

The energy storage facility is a new site for Dyson.  The SFM for IHM ES will be part of the team to set up the site.  The incumbent will provide financial support to the site setup which involves multiple analysis together with the stakeholders in areas including but not limited to the determination of transaction flows of the entity, inputs on designs for manufacturing systems set up, setting up of operation KPIs etc.  

From the operations go live, the incumbent will oversee the financial operations and provide direction to lead the finance team at the site to collaborate with the site’s GM and other senior management to deliver key finance and operations KPIs.

From time to time, the incumbent will also work on ad hoc analysis together with the Operations and RDD functions to identify new opportunities for Dyson. This will include but not limited to the costings of new variants of in house technology, exploration of new manufacturing locations etc.  The incumbent will use his/her financial knowledge and manufacturing experience to formulate clear analysis for senior management team in Dyson for key decision-making. 

The role is highly visible in the Dyson OPS organisation and also a key position of the IHM finance function.  This roles allows the incumbent a great opportunity to develop a thorough understanding of Dyson’s in house manufacturing technology.

The role reports into the Head of Finance – IHM Operations and 1 direct report team based in Singapore.

Accountabilities

• Provide inputs to the design of financial process in the setup of MES and ERP systems
• Set up business transactions flows for the site
• Provide direction to finance team based at site to deliver finance/operations KPIs
• Business Partner with IHM sites GMs to support site’s set up and growth
• Oversee month end closing
• Run the financial planning (budget, month forecasts) processes
• Provide analysis on manufacturing cost to site management with recommended actions
• Business partner with Operations and RDD teams for manufacturing costings of new technology in development
• Work with site operation teams to drive efficiencies across manufacturing processes
• Collaborates with site GM and other senior management on ad hoc reviews and complex analysis
• Review and implement plant internal controls to maintain the standard procedures across IHM functions
• Train and guide the IHM finance teams in continue professional developments
• Involved / take ownership of ad hoc strategic projects involving in house manufacturing 

Skills

• Qualified Accountant or equivalent post graduate qualification with manufacturing and costing experience
• At least 10 to 12 years of relevant work experience
• Experience in rigorous financial planning, analysis and/or strategy experience
• Experience in MES/ERP system set up an advantage
• Experience in start up organisation an advantage
• Excellent analytical ability and Excel spreadsheet skills
• Good planning and organisation skills
• Ability to understand concepts and ideas quickly and model data in meaningful ways
• Naturally Inquisitive - comfortable and willing to interrogate existing process and systems
• Proactive in proposing ideas to challenge status quo  
• Experience in working across functions and cultures and dealing with remote teams
• Excellent personal and business presentation skills, in particular the presentation of financial information to non-finance managers and directors
• Assertive and able to influence upwards and peers
• Good spoken & written English 
• Has strong sense of operational discipline and ability to meet deadlines
