About the role

 

To provide analytical insight and direction based on sound structural, mechanical and physical interpretation of data and resolution of problems faced by our design team.

 

You will be able to prove you have the ability to drive designs forward based on sound engineering knowledge and to ensure correct decisions are taken at all stages of the design process. 

 

Working within a small team of likeminded engineering problem solvers you will be responsible for the application of fundamental physical theories and pragmatic methods to provide mechanical understanding and insight, ultimately providing brilliant products to the business.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

Delivery of concise accurate results - these maybe as a result of a computational simulation, a hand calculation or an experimental test.

 

Articulating data either in report form or as a presentation is another important part of this role as your work will be steering designs and informing cross functional decisions within the team.

About you

Skills Knowledge & Experience:

  • A first degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering BEng. or MEng. A PhD would be desirable but not essential. 

  • Experience in an engineering company or consultancy, this vacancy would suit someone looking for their second or third position post graduation. For a senior applicant we would ideally be looking for least 5 years’ experience post-graduation, but superstars are always welcome to apply.

     

    Technical:

  • Demonstrable competence in the use and application of CAD & CAE tools in general but specifically the ANSYS and NX suite of products.

  • A good understanding of the principles and application of CFD, with previous experience of ANSYS suite of analytical tools.

  • A sound understanding of experimental techniques, particularly with regard to pressure, temperature and flow measurement.

  • A good working knowledge of fundamental thermodynamics and fluid dynamics.

  • A sound understanding of experimental techniques, particularly with regard to pressure, temperature and flow measurement.

      

     

    Behavioural:

  • A highly driven individual who strives for accurate results in every aspect of your work.

  • The proven ability to work as part of a team or un-supervised to an agreed goal or set of deliverables is imperative.

  • A clear logical thinker with exceptional attention to detail.
