About the role

As a key member of the EMEA Health & Safety Team, you will assist in developing the Health, Safety and Wellbeing culture of Dyson. You will be responsible for executing all H&S tasks in accordance with Dyson policy, under the guidance of our Head of Health & Safety Manager (EMEA and Americas) and throughout our EMEA sites, which span a variety of property types and locations. You will work out of the new Dyson Amsterdam office.

You will have extensive stakeholder interaction and liaison within the role, working alongside key personnel at Dyson, including Project Managers, Building Services/Workplace Managers, Facilities Managers, Commercial, Security, Retail, Service Centres, Events teams and our People function.

You will provide H&S advice, support, coaching and assistance across several areas, including but not limited to infection control of hazardous substances, general risk assessment and management, Electrical Safety, Return to work assessments, evacuation plans, Workstation Assessments, Fire Safety Management, Emergency response (e.g. First Aid), Manual Handling, Insurance claims, New & Expectant mothers, general site safety, work experience/young people. You will provide operational H&S support to our Retail, Service Centres and Events throughout the region.

You will monitor all H&S incidents, providing assistance and support to managers, supporting the investigation of H&S incidents to identify underlying causes; recording findings and recommendations, and undertaking analysis and internal/external reporting as required. You will contribute, manage, and implement the Global H&S Management System, our audit tools, Dyson Learning, and our Global H&S assurance programme. When selecting and working with third party contractors, you will ensure H&S considerations are established.

We want you to develop and deliver innovative and engaging H&S training, awareness and induction programmes / initiatives to our People at all levels, so they understand their responsibilities and carry out their tasks and activities in a safe manner. You will support the implementation of the Global Health and Safety Policy and Standards, establishing H&S Committee Meetings, and supporting H&S Champions in each function of the business.

Please note

We do not offer hybrid/remote working with this position, and there may be some travel needed from time to time.

About you

  • At least three years’ experience as a Health & Safety Advisor within EMEA countries
  • A safety related degree, NEBOSH Diploma, or equivalent
  • Chartered IOSH Membership, or equivalent
  • Experience interpreting and applying relevant legislation
  • Experience influencing, motivating, and managing others
  • Good IT skills (specifically with Microsoft Office)
  • Comfortable delivering training in a clear and concise manner
  • A good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, highly analytical, confident, credible, assertive, able to use initiative
  • Proficiency in multiple languages would be a benefit
