About the role
Based in Bristol, UK, this role supports the GB & Ireland Market, representing the agenda for all people related activities. Supporting parts of the GB&I leadership team, the role will create, champion, and drive a people plan which will enable successful delivery of the business objectives. You will also be responsible for a number of key strategic work-streams (such as workforce planning, salary reviews and performance cycles)
You are a pragmatic and trusted partner, working with the full GB&I business to ensure that people policies and practices help us to attract, develop and retain great people who are passionate about Dyson.
Key Accountabilities
Create and execute a solid people agenda linked to overall Dyson business goals, driving regular communication of people and HR priorities and processes across your business areas.
Workforce and organisational planning, overseeing resource needs with FTE/ headcount management to support the business to effective and sustainable teams.
Develop effective on-going relationships with managers, establishing yourself as a credible, respected, and valued partner.
Coach, challenge, and influence senior managers to develop the organisational capability required for delivery of objectives; anticipate the changing needs of the business and drive the active management and development of talent.
Support and deliver the talent agenda for your business area, understanding the key talent, their strengths and development needs and actively participate in talent management discussions with the leadership teams.
Champion performance management and personal development planning process with your business area and ensure that leaders and employees have the skills and capability to maximise the potential of the Market. Identify opportunities and engage key leaders/managers with ideas for improving team and individual performance, capabilities, and overall effectiveness.
Employee Relations management; support managers and work with global ER Team on process and decisions relating to complex people cases with financial or legal risks
Challenge practices if you believe there are better ways of doing things and inspire others to do the same, fixing things that need fixing, identifying problems and finding solutions.
Work in collaboration with the wider People team; Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition, Global Mobility and Reward to ensure the best support for our people
Be an active contributor to HR functional strategy, understand the objectives of the other HR teams and take opportunities to share knowledge and best practice. Ensure that everything you do is in line with the overall Dyson HR philosophy
Nurture a positive working environment and work with the business to uphold an engaged, diverse, and high performing organisation
Deliver expert and customer focused operational HR support - providing advice and guidance to resolve day-to-day queries as they arise.
About You
The successful candidate is a result-driven individual with a positive ‘can do’ attitude; a self-starter, comfortable to challenging the status quo and who embraces opportunities to get involved and sees things through to completion.
Significant and relevant HR experience operating as a Generalist and a key contact for line managers and leaders
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in relevant field
Experience working with senior leaders is desirable
Solid understanding of GB and Ireland respective employment laws.
Experience working within an entrepreneurial organisation culture is desirable
Strong relationship building and influencing skills
Business focused and commercially aware
High level of communication skills; presents self and views with confidence and conviction
Comfortably influences and negotiates
Analytical thinking skills. Quickly evaluates situations and reaches well founded conclusions
Capable of defining and managing initiatives/projects
Great coaching and mentoring skills, and a passion for developing people
Has impact, gravitas and credibility with HR colleagues and leaders at all levels
Brings an intelligent, quick-thinking, and logical approach
Able to work at pace, whilst maintaining appropriate attention to detail and standards
