Global IT Strategy, Platforms and Enablement OverviewThis team are accountable for delivering the IT strategy that aligns to and forms part of the broader Dyson strategic blueprint.  It will take the lead in bringing technology insights to this strategy and mobilising innovative technology centres of excellence to accelerate the delivery of the strategic intents called out in the blueprint.
The team will lead on the optimisation of resource across people, finances and architectural principles to ensure the Dyson IT teams are focused on the right things at the right time and in the right order.
The team lead on enabling and co-ordinating cross pillar activity, at all levels in IT, to ensure consistency of process and outcome is achieved, particularly around service management best practice.

About the role

The Platform Operations Manager, reporting to the Head of Technology Platforms and Centres of Excellence (CoE), will be responsible for: 
  • Managing a team of Global IT Technical Service Leads (EMEA, APAC, Americas)
  • Working with partners to ensure that technical areas of IT Core Platform services are aligned with standard policy, process and best practice
  • Effectively managing the relationship with partners and service providers to ensure quality of service, continuation of key services, developing effective SLAs and maintaining service level performance
  • Managing and proactive monitoring of IT Core infrastructure performance, maintenance and support and infrastructure capacity planning
  • Analyzing performance trends and implementing improvements to reduce cost, increase stability and quality of service
  • Owning technical problems and major incidents for IT core infrastructure operations, driving service partners and vendors to deliver a resolution
  • Leading the drive towards standardized, best practice, processes and common ways of working
  • Ensuring quality of service and support in the technical area is designed into IT services and appropriate support and operating models are in place
  • A focus on delivering continuous service improvement to improve effectiveness of the platforms and service
  • Working with partners and Cyber Fusion Centre to ensure IT Core platforms are secure and compliant to reduce operational risk
  • Ensuring IT Core Infrastructure services are aligned with evolving needs and capabilities, capacity and are future fit
  • Managing technical change which impacts IT Infrastructure Services ensuring minimal risk

About you

  • Knowledge of IT Service Management frameworks and the management of IT Services
  • Knowledge/Understanding of good information security practice from a technical and management perspective
  • Demonstrable knowledge of ITIL 
  • 5 + years’ experience as a Manager of Infrastructure Operation team
  • 5+ years as Infrastructure Operations experience in global and campus Networks, Data Centre Management, Cloud Technologies and Management, Database Technologies and Management
  • Proven track record of driving and delivering consistent and constant service improvements
  • Vendor and Supplier Management 
  • Evidence of ability to build relationships to all levels within the organisation
  • Evidence of adaptability/flexible to changing demands
  • Evidence of ability to influence
  • An understanding of an outsourced delivery environment/model
  • Understanding of internal/external customer business needs
