About the role

  • Manage the installation of Production Equipment in Dyson’s CM within allocated time-frame.

  • Commission the Production Line and work with Contract Manufacturer to hit SOP (Start of Production) on time.

  • Work with the Contract Manufacturer to monitor the performance of the Production line(s) based on Yied, OEE, and quality targets.

  • Establish a Preventive Maintenance process / procedures with the CM to ensure maximum utilisation of the production line. 

  • Develop a culture of Good Engineering Practice and continuous improvement.

  • Play an active part to provide leadership within the ME department. To create and maintain a culture of high standards to meet the vision and mission of the ME department.

  • Proactively identify technical risks within projects and influence design teams in their resolution, often taking the lead in the design and testing of the engineering solution

  • Provide feedback to NPI team to improve on next generation of products.

  • Lead the team in working with suppliers to conduct Equipment FMEA to deliver solutions that are robust and mistake-proof.

  • Lead the team in establishing process validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ), work with suppliers and the CM to commission, and validate the production equipment.

  • Run experiments to define process margins using DOE.

  • Set up process monitoring in line with quality expectations; using key tools like SPC.

  • Maintain communication and status update to stakeholders.

  • Problem solving and root cause analysis of product failures.

  • Process optimization through breakthrough engineering solutions.

About you

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Electronics, Electrical, Communications, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.

  • Relevant experience in design and fabrication of automated or semi-automated production equipment.

  • A strong people leader.

  • Able to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment to deliver optimal solutions at prescribed time frame.

  • Ideally have experience of working in a regulated industry.

  • Experience in process validation, URS, DS, FS along with IQ/OQ/PQ.

  • Have conducted extensive process charcterisation work using DOE.

  • Has operated in an out-sourced environment; understanding the challenges and pit falls.

  • Practical knowledge of Process Control design and implementation.

  • Statistical tools application (Minitab / JMP).

  • Familiar with the rigour of NPI phases and milestones.

  • Experience in developing and managing expenses and capital budgets.

  • Happy and able to travel for extended period a must with trips within Mexico, to USA, South East Asia and England. 

  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Spanish.
