Senior Marketing Manager, PC, SEA

About The Role:

Dyson has ambitions to grow its business substantially in SEA, across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam. The business currently operates in the categories of Floor Care, Environmental Care, Personal Care, and Lighting.

You will play a critical role in enabling the growth of these markets by owning the strategy and campaigns for Personal Care (PC) in the region.

Separately, given the matrix structure within the organisation, you will also lead our developing markets – Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines – supported by a team which includes Assistant Marketing Managers and functional teams such as Digital Marketing, CRM and Social.

Key Responsibilities

Category strategy and brand management:

  • Develop the long-term vision and commercial plan to grow the PC category – Dyson Supersonic, Dyson Airwrap, Dyson Corrale, and any other upcoming innovations.

  • Understand the business challenges and opportunities through analysis, which includes market research, and analysis on market share, pricing, competition, retail, consumer segmentation, brand health, etc.

  • Partner and influence global leadership to develop the products, proposition, and creatives relevant for the business.

  • Work with claims & performance team to define performance claims that align consumer insight, develop compelling category proposition, whist meeting market industry standards

  • Demonstrate agility in proactively adapting plans to market changes, developing, and executing plans, in line with the category strategy to accelerate the business growth and sales target.

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams, such as Sales, e-Commerce, customer service, supply chain, engineers, PR, etc. Together with the Sales team in particular, assess the business performance of the category and develop a joint strategy and action plan for the category.

New category creation:

  • Manage new product development launch initiatives; building and identifying the commercial opportunities based on insights and data.

  • Work closely with the global commercial team and engineers to seek for continuous improvement of the products, and consumer experience.

  • Build and curate the product ranges that meet consumer and market needs

Market responsibilities:

  • Lead the MYIDPH cluster marketing team to execute on go-to-markets plans across all categories and activations as required, in collaboration with the market’s business development managers and distributors.

  • Manage the markets’ P&L, with governance of the market budgets and spend efficiency.

  • Partner with finance to monitor and control spend requirements against business objectives.

Build, develop and promote an effective team:

  • Lead, develop, coach, and motivate a diverse team so that it is capable of delivering excellent and “best in class” results.

  • Drive commercial awareness within the team and the whole organization.

Fulfil other duties as required:

  • Pick up new activities that fall broadly in the purpose of the role.

  • Fix things that you can see need fixing.

  • Identify problems and find solutions.

  • Promote and demonstrate Dyson behaviours.

About You:

Experience and Education:

  • Min. +8 years of marketing and category management experience

  • Experience of working in an MNC and/ or internationally

  • P&L management of large-scale budgets

  • Specialized in category building including new technology launches

  • Experience in beauty, FMCG, consumer electronics and/or technology industry a plus

  • Team management

  • Delivery focused, and prepared to roll up your sleeves to make things happen
