Our IT Corporate Functions Team:
Dyson’s IT Corporate Functions team exists to ‘wow’ and ‘delight’ our business stakeholders in partnering with them to define and delivery an IT Technology Roadmap to support the business functions strategy and objectives. Dyson’s IT Corporate Functions team partners globally with the following areas of the Dyson business:
People/HR
Finance
Dyson Business Services (Global business services)
Legal
Group Security
Sustainability governance and compliance
Communications
Weybourne (Dyson’s family office)
The IT Corporate Functions Team has global responsibility for the end to end business relationships and technical product management across the above functions from ideation, roadmap definition, business case creation and delivery execution through to enhancements, operations and in time product replacement/retirement. We work with our business stakeholders to leverage bleeding edge technologies and strategic partnerships in order to transform the way they work and the outcomes they deliver to the wider business – working smarter, automating, DEVSECOPS, upskilling etc.

About the role
Reporting directly to the IT Director – Corporate Functions, the Portfolio and Finance Manager will be responsible for improving the consistency, predictability and efficiency of project and programme delivery. The successful candidate will work with the Office of the CIO (OCIO) PMO Team to build on best practice and combine with standard methodologies to run a world class delivery machine tailored to the Dyson start-up mind-set. This role would suit a high calibre PMO professional individual who is on an upward trajectory and has the vision and tenacity to setup and run a PMO in a fast moving and dynamic organisation:
The role will involve the following key activities:
Working within standards and methodologies determined by the Office of the CIO (PMO Team).
Implement and maintain generic project management standards, processes, templates and procedures;
Support the setting up of individual project processes, procedures and tools;
Support the Project/Programme Managers in maintaining and reporting of project finances;
Support the use of planning, estimating, tracking and risk analysis tools and techniques;
Ensure the completeness and regular maintenance of project plans; including an up-to-date repository of projects underway and requests pending review;
Managing interfaces between projects to ensure accurate and appropriate communication of the projects activities;
Ensure Project Review Boards and Steering committees are coordinated and supported
Set up and administration of project change control and risk management processes
Set up and administration of resource capacity planning and tracking to help understand resource availability and utilisation across projects;
Tracking and reporting on progress of project milestones and baselined plans;
Provide generic and specific support for the development and content of business cases, project plans and review and audit reports,
Contribute to reviews and audits of the management of projects and programmes to ensure conformance to organisation standards.
Evaluate project performance and recommend changes where performance is found to be unsatisfactory;
Provide in-depth advice and support for project management, delivery and tracking software and tools (such as Confluence and JIRA);
Recruit and manage appropriate PMO resources to meet the needs of the PMO, including line management responsibilities for junior PMO staff;
Coordination of regular departmental demonstrations to communicate programme progress to the wider team and stakeholders as appropriate;
Administration large project and programme level retrospectives to capture lessons learned and support continuous learning to identify areas of workflow or process that should be refined. Rollout improvement activities and or training as appropriate.
About you
Essential:
5-7 years supporting project delivery, ideally in a digital industry / area of delivery.
Understands project management fundamentals and business management systems.
Is able to lead by example with a thorough understanding of how the PMO team assists the organisation.
Ability to manage a PMO team, with full responsibility for that area.
Proficient and can advise others in project management methods, principles, techniques and tools.
Proven understanding of Financial management within a Programme/project/devops delivery capability, including understanding of standard financial models, invoicing, revenue recognition and forecasting.
Strong working knowledge of Project tools including: MS Project, JIRA & Confluence.
Strong skills in MS Excel and Tableau.
Desirable qualifications and knowledge (not essential):
PRINCE2
Agile PM/ DSDM / SAFE
Experience in use of Planview
Experience in use of Ariba and SAP
Key competencies:

Capable of working with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
Strong presentation, training and client facing skills.
Proven organisational skills.
