We are very excited to be expanding in Singapore and we are looking for a Senior Power Electronics Engineer.

We strive to get the latest technologies in our products, working with New Product Innovation and wider research teams to consider all aspects of complex products including thermals, optics, electromagnetics, aero-acoustics, mechanical design, microbiology, and machine learning. We have unique strategic partnerships with top universities and businesses globally to gain insight into the future state-of-the-art and help form our technology and product roadmap, allowing us to differentiate from the competition. About The Role

  • Research into new technology and investigating ways of incorporating this technology into future products.

  • Collaborate with various teams to understand and capture the power system requirement.

  • Manage your time and tasks and assist with project plans, reporting your progress.

  • Generate concepts of new power electronic systems and present your ideas.

  • Design of both mains and battery powered power electronics hardware.

  • Design to meet global compliance, safety and EMC standards for the product.

  • SPICE simulations to show plausibility of electronic designs.

  • Schematic capture and PCB layout of designs.

  • Thermal management design of power electronics.

  • Hand soldering and build of individual prototype electronics using mixed technology components.

  • Testing and validation of prototypes using state of the art lab equipment.

  • Document work in well-written, precise reports and produce condensed information and imagery for presentations to senior management.

About You

  • Degree or equivalent experience in electronic engineering or comparable discipline.

  • More than 3 years working experience in University Research or Electronic design industry or similar

  • Experience in at least one of: motor drives, inverters, SMPS, heater control, chargers, battery management systems, power transfer.

  • Good knowledge of power electronic devices, including silicon based IGBTs and MOSFETs and wide bandgap technologies and ability to interpret device datasheets.

  • Knowledge of compliance and EMC standards in a relevant product area.

  • Some knowledge of analogue electronics a plus.

  • Experience using SPICE based simulation tools using manufacturers device models.

  • Experience of schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Design, Mentor Graphics or other mainstream tools.

  • Experience performing detailed design and tolerance calculations.

  • Experience in hand soldering of through hole and surface mount components using soldering iron or hot-air rework station.

  • Experience of programming microcontrollers is a plus.

  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

  • Ability to communicate appropriate, concise and accurate information in written and verbal format.

  • Excellent team working skills.
