About us

We are looking for a Senior Procurement Manager to support us in the Metal Commodity. This role will have direct impact in creating value improvements for the business and will provide strategic commodity planning and collaborate closely with relevant cross-functional team, building robust supply solution that have optimum cost, quality, delivery, innovation performance outcomes.

About the role

  • Full commercial responsibility of Metal Commodity across all product categories.

  • Dual/Multi source activities - collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to implement alternative solutions.

  • Manage materials readiness to support project time plans. Coordinate with RDD, project, CPM team, and suppliers to fulfil project requirement.

  • Supplier contracting, T&C and Price negotiations.

  • Total commodity ownership, including supplier relationship management in alignment with the needs of the business, conduct supplier scorecard, segmentation and business review.  Inclusive of actively approaching the supplier market by means of investigating, scouting and screening with new or alternative suppliers.

  • Responsible for total supplier performance: measure and manage vs. key targets, compliance to agreements and implementing improvement roadmaps to address gaps.

  • Develop and execute commodity strategies to support product category requirements and needs.

  • Price management – Analyze piece part costing, quotation T&C, price change and update.

  • Supplier Risk Management – for suppliers within the commodity, including mitigation plans and closure plans.

  • Commodity Market Intelligence – gathering and informing stakeholders of the relevant market/supplier intelligence, globally, regionally and locally.

  • This position reports into Global Commodity Group Lead for Metal, Rubber & Foam.

About you

  • Degree level qualification or above.

  • Substantial experience in Commodity Management and direct material sourcing preferably in a FMCG industry.

  • Proficient negotiator with proven abilities in influencing people at all levels in the organization.

  • Good knowledge of legal regulations and contract setting

  • Self-motivated, accurate and operates with the highest ethical standards. Be tough but fair.

  • Demonstrate understanding of technical, manufacturing and testing methods and processes.

  • Proven track record of successful Commodity Management.

  • Fluent spoken and written English.

  • Experience of lean manufacturing is an advantage.
