The G&P team is part of the design engineering organisation, and is responsible for all Graphics and Packaging that are used in the manufacturing of Dyson products. The operation is split between the UK and South East Asia. The UK plays a strategic role in delivering these items, and the South East Asia team play a tactical part. Together they deliver effective, cutting edge solutions to Dyson’s Graphics and Packaging.

About the role

The Senior Graphics & Packaging (G&P) Programme Manager will lead the UK programme team in delivery of G&P strategy for new product development projects, across multiple product categories, working upstream in the milestone process in design engineering. They will be defining and delivering the G&P UK Programme Management vision and long term plan in line with department strategy and business needs. The right candidate will have a deep knowledge and understanding of Graphics & Packaging in production as well as Programme Management. The role will require sufficient knowledge across the portfolio to be able to present accurate status to stakeholders at senior level, while being comfortable delivering technical and challenging messages when required. They will be accountable for designing, organising and developing the G&P UK Programme Management function for sustainable, long term success, whilst ensuring active alignment and collaboration with the rest of the G&P functions in the UK and SEA teams. The role will work closely with the G&P design/development lead to motivate and develop diverse teams within the department to grow capability and resource to deliver business strategy and direction.


  • Create the right organisational design, culture, ways of working and environment to enable G&P Programme Management to proactively generate new ideas, scope, and refine requirements alongside design engineering, to deliver defined business objectives and continuously improve

  • Play a key role in the leadership community working collaboratively with peers & Directors to develop organisational ways of working & continuously improve processes

  • Encourages collaboration and provides inspirational leadership to the G&P Programme Management function and wider team, to keep the Dyson spirit alive whilst continuously improving efficiency and quality of output

  • Modify strategy to enable the continuing success, effectiveness and productivity of G&P Programme Management

  • Accountable for all activity, outputs and deliverables of G&P Programme Management at project / programme / portfolio level

  • Accountable for the efficiency and effectiveness of G&P Programme Management to the business

About you

  • Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent 

  • Formal project management qualifications (PMP / PMQ / PRINCE2 or can demonstrate equivalent experience)

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft Project

  • Proven experience leading diverse teams, managing delivery of complex projects in a fast moving and dynamic environment

  • Excellent communication skills, with credibility to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at a senior and executive level 

  • Expert in application of business processes and operational/development framework 

  • Strong commercial and operational awareness, able to think and plan strategically across the function

  • Able to resolve conflict, inspire teams, mentor peers, and promote best practice

  • Ability to solve unique and complex problems and operate within a level of ambiguity
