About Us

We are looking for a talented Senior Programme Manager to join Dyson’s Design and Product Experience (D & PE) team. This exciting position will be based in our Hullavington Campus, UK spanning a number of design disciplines working both in the UK and Singapore. This unique role has good visibility across all Dyson categories and end-to-end of the project lifecycle. 

The Senior Programme Manager, the role will be instrumental to ensure projects are delivered on time; meet the optimum design and technical specification and are within budget. This role interfaces with many stakeholders and functions across the business spanning many functions from NPI and Research into NPD and Commercial. You will ensure that D&PE team and project status is communicated to the business at the right time and that our cross-discipline team align. 

About the role

  • Manage and Coordinate the Programme Management of a large cross category organisation, managing projects as required.

  • Coordinate and communicate project scope, identify dependencies and understand the critical path to secure timely project delivery.

  • Oversight and integration of multi-discipline team plans to deliver projects to required SOP and Launch dates.

  • Coordinate and communicate project status to the business in an effective and timely way; resolve conflicts and lead solutions.

  • Identify and manage stakeholders, resolve conflicts, empower and inspire teams.

  • Manage progress, analyse, collate & report project status and data from a cost, time, spec perspective.

  • Instrumental in the control of the departmental budget and define and manage the project cost.

  • Define, assess and track the impact of change requests.

  • Create resource plans to determine demand and manage project resource allocation.

  • Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement initiatives and development of PM capability.

  • Promote Project Management principles and best practices in all aspects of work.

  • Work independently, with little to no guidance.

  • Provide leadership, guidance and coaching to your team – a Programme Manager based in Singapore and a Lead Project Manager based in the UK.

About you 

  • Experience working in a dynamic and innovative environment. 

  • Experience of working in creative teams 

  • Outstanding project management capabilities (i.e. estimating and planning, risk management, status reporting, budget tracking, benefits analysis, stakeholder management and communication, resource management) 

  • Significant experience with proven ability to manage and deliver moderately complex tasks in a fast moving and dynamic environment.

  • In depth understanding and application of business processes, project governance methods and operational/development framework.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build productive working relationships and influence 

  • Confident; comfortable with interacting with senior executives without being tempted to dilute unpleasant news or back down from well-reasoned analysis 

  • Assertive; readiness to press teams to take remedial action when required 

  • Analytical mind-set, attention to detail and ability to challenge assumptions and convention.

  • Credible; ability to demonstrate a good level of understanding of engineering and design processes in order to work with design teams throughout the project development cycle 

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and preferably the Atlassian suite. 

  • Self-motivated and able to resolve conflict, inspire teams, mentor peers.

  • Line management experience is necessary
