About the role

As our Senior Retail Concept Designer, you will develop outstanding relationships with others, acting as a business partner for our major stakeholders, ensuring that Dyson third party retail delivers an exceptional brand and shopper experience with the launch of NPD and development of all retail systems.

You will drive the success of all NPD and system launches into our third-party environments, diving into operational detail when necessary. You will be responsible for designing retail theatre, experiences, customer journeys, and new concepts and furniture designs for Dyson’s global retail estate, working cross-functionally and collaboratively with the wider retail team as well as Group Commercial and markets to deliver on-brand and compelling solutions.

We create Retail Launch Campaigns through integrated, compelling creative and technical solutions for 3D physical product displays, demonstration mechanisms, concepting for 2D graphics and comms, digital and film considerations, support for instore experts, instruction and education guides and presentations. We design Retail Furniture Systems, looking at premium, modular, cost effective, flexible, future proof, globally deployed systems to support all aspects of the retail experience. And we manage our Retail Estate Design, looking at product ranging, stock holding, international and market specific considerations and problem solving, store layouts, consultation, and education of partners.

You will drive your own projects, liaising with your manager, design and experience director and key stakeholders within the extended team, being accountable and responsible for the progress and delivery of your specific projects and the wider business goals. Your time will be partly spent supporting your design manager on commercial business ‘missions’ and delivering NPD solutions for off-line retail, ensuring team resource is adequately split.


About you

  • Educated to degree level in a Design related field
  • Demonstrable experience in Point-of-Sale design, retail design and/or commercial design
  • Experience using 3D CAD, 3DS Max, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Confidence in freehand sketching
  • An understanding of graphic design, instore communication, model making, prototyping
  • Ideally a familiarity/experience with Solidworks, AR/VR, digital design, cardboard engineering, storyboarding for video as we work closely with teams in those areas
  • A multitasker, highly creative, articulate, detail orientated, a confident communicator and collaborator, commercially astute, passionate and positive
