About the Role

The Senior Stylist within our Flagship Demo Store and Beauty Lab is responsible for providing an exceptional styling experience for our owners. They are our product advocates, who will bring the personal care category to life for Dyson owners.

The Senior Stylist will also support the Store Manager and Beauty Lab Manager to ensure the day to day running and operation of the Store. This involves administration, stock tracking , returns , customer assistance and managing appointments.

You will be fully versed in the content of the Operating Manual and ensure every element is executed at the highest degree of retail execution on a daily basis through the wider team

Main Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Ensure that the retail operation complies to all policies and procedures relating to Security, Health and Safety; influence any changes necessary to meet statutory requirements, ensuring minimum risk to staff members and the business

  • Build and maintain great relationships with internal and external customers to influence and contribute to the development of the business

  • Ensure sales reporting and recording is accurate in the POS

  • Together with the Store Manager, review results, establish clear measures, share insights, and review as needed to drive performance

  • Ensure the tracking and progress of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual objectives

  • Support the launch of new products and services and events

  • Ensure the culture is one that aligns to the Dyson values where the team is recognized for their contribution and is regularly invited to share feedback to improve Store performance

  • Translate the strategic goals into retail operational plans to achieve the required targeted growth in customer experience, sales and profit; identify and optimize promotional opportunities

  • Be accountable for sales targets, and take ownership on achieving these goals

  • Provide a styling service that exceeds our shopper’s expectations;

  • Each appointment booked includes; wash, blow dry and styling of the customers hair within a 45 minute session

  • Ensure appointments start and finish on time

  • When there are no clients, ensure store presentation, cleaning and stock fill is up to date

About You

The Senior Stylist will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal, exceptional presentation skills and a high attention to detail. You will have the ability to pick up new activities that fall broadly in the purpose of the role, fix things that you can see need fixing and identify problems and find solutions whilst promoting and demonstrating Dyson behaviours. The Senior Stylist will be flexible and have the ability to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays if needed.

Previous skills and experience:

  • 3+ years of experience as a hair stylist, specifically being an expert in: wash, dry and styling and able to style hair of all types

  • Experience managing the day to day operations of a retail space or hair salon

  • Experience supporting a store manager in a retail or hair environment environment

  • Experience working with or in a premium or luxury brand strongly preferred

  • Minimum qualification of Certificate III in Hairdressing or equivalent

  • Ability to lead a team when required

  • Strong time management skills and ability to work under pressure

  • Proficient at Microsoft Office Suite and POS

  • The ability and initiative to work independently

  • Ability to lift, push or pull up to 30lbs
