Senior Systems Design Engineer - NPI Projects

Design and Development
United Kingdom - Malmesbury Office

About us

Dyson is a global technology enterprise. We solve the problems others choose to ignore, with surprising new inventions that defy convention and simply work better. We’re growing fast and our ambition is huge - more categories, more locations and more people.

We push the boundaries of what others have defined as possible. Our approach starts with an engineering mindset and different thinking. Then we continuously refine our ideas - unwilling to compromise and driven by an obsession for finding a better way.

Dyson create products which are different and better than the competition. These solutions are increasingly complex and require a system approach. We’re rapidly expanding our New Product Innovation team to help us manage that complexity and ultimately get our new ideas to market sooner.

  • Build product system simulations to help define the performance of our new concepts.

  • Work collaboratively with the research and development teams to clarify the full product system models

  • Operate effectively on changeable and ambiguous early stage projects.

  • Challenge convention - don’t blindly follow process. Change direction and find novel ways of working to make sure you’re always adding real value.

  • Be inquisitive - always ask ‘why?’; seek to understand the underlying principles behind all engineering problems, strive to broaden your skill set.

  • Influence; you’ll need to be able to convince stakeholders at all levels of the business.
