The Social media manager sits within the media team which is responsible for all paid media channels and work closely with Category, Communications, and eCommerce teams to exceed our business objectives.

About the Role

The role incorporates both paid and owned social channels. You will also be the key point of contact for creating, launching, and amplifying local content built via relevant publishers in the Netherlands and Belgium.

In your role as a Social Manager, Benelux, you will develop the social channel as a critical digital touchpoint for both owners and shoppers. Working closely with the Media, Category, Communications and Regional EMEA Social team, the Social Media Manager will be instrumental in developing and executing a best-in-class Social Media strategy.

You will grow an engaging follower’s base across multiple social channels, inspire and engage with creative, fit for purpose content. You will be in the forefront of collecting, sharing, and deriving actions from social trends, performance, and social listening. While driving social owned, you will also link it to social paid and further align with the rest of channels across the full funnel.

Underpinning all the above– you will need a growth mindset and a curiosity to deliver results smarter.

Main responsibilities include but not limited to

Social Media Strategy and Community Building

  • Develop and execute impactful and innovative social media strategy and tactics to expand local social presence

  • Set and monitor goals to increase brand awareness and engagement in the Dutch and Belgian market

  • Own, manage and evolve Benelux’s owned social content media calendar

  • Manage paid social linking performance to key business and e-com KPI’s across the funnel

  • Constantly be on the lookout for ways to cultivate our community with shoppers, owners, encouraging advocacy and word of mouth

  • Own our local social listening capability; brand, category / product, and event insights

  • Manage and improve social SEO

  • Deliver regular reports on the performance, optimizations, test & learn activities of our social media presence across paid and owned

  • Share best practice on social and broader digital trends

  • Manage the @dyson_nl and @dyson_belgium Instagram accounts

  • Open a TikTok account for Dyson Benelux

Fit for purpose content that Drives Relevancy and Engagement

  • Create necessary fit for purpose content that makes Dyson a love brand in the social community (through UGC, branded and influencer content)

  • Be the key contact for all branded content, creating an annual roadmap, managing, executing, and analysing success of campaigns

  • Provide insights to global and regional teams to inform creative and develop content to deliver value and engagement to the Dyson community

  • Work closely with web and media to optimise performance and user journeys

External relationships management and collaboration across departments

  • Manage the local relationship with social media networks, implementing best practise and platform innovation

  • Work with the wider marketing, owner experience and PR teams to align on a consistent narrative

  • Work alongside the Global Social Media team and regional leads within Centre of Excellence to understand and share best practices

About You

You will be passionate about staying up to date on digital and social trends; always looking to learn the most cutting-edge methodologies in the social media space.

You will be able to identify opportunities, gaps, and areas for efficiencies, and provide valuable insights that will ultimately help us grow our social footprint.

You can spot trends, understand why they are happening, and how they might affect the business.

You enjoy creating meaningful content, optimizing it real time based on the data you get. You know how to make the most out of each social platform, constantly looking for innovative ways to acquire and engage with current and new followers. You are not afraid to try new things, sharing powerful insights on test and learn initiatives.

You thrive in a fast-paced environment, with proficient time management skills and the ability to prioritise and multitask with shifting priorities.

Previous Experience

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in leading social media and community management or a related field

  • Experience in creating content either personally or professionally. Ability to create ad hoc content e.g., Behind the Scenes content is a must.

  • Previous experience managing and moderating a sizeable social media community

  • Proven experience in managing social media planning and listening tools, ideally Sprinklr

  • Experience working with TikTok, TikTok business manager, Instagram, Meta business manager

Soft skills

  • Creative flair, thinking of outside the box, thereby finding new, engaging solutions

  • Strong analytical skills-proven experience of delivering data and reporting to stakeholders at multiple levels

  • High level of attention to detail

  • Ability to build and manage stakeholder relationships internationally and at all levels

  • Demonstrable skills in idea generation and identifying and capitalising trends and insights into tangible actions

  • Understanding of best practices and emerging trends within the digital / social space

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Highly self-motivated and proactive with ability to work both with minimal supervision and as part of a fast-paced team Organizational skills. Strong planning and project management skills

  • The ability to keep a level head and maintain grace under pressure

  • Interest and initiative to innovate Dyson’s social media practices and bring them to the next level.

  • Excellent command of both English and Dutch language is a must, French is beneficial
