Software Technical Lead (Cloud )

Specialist in software engineering. Is able to develop software design patterns and help team members with software engineering if required. Is known across different Software teams to be an expert in Cloud development and services and drives innovation in these areas. Is able to work with Product Owners to verify if requirements are feasible in an early stage of a project.

Level of job knowledge & experience

Has a great understanding of software development processes and is expected to mentor others in their area of expertise.

Has the drive and ability to work autonomously with proven capability in their technical area (cloud)

Has experience in development of relevant software language, for cloud services

Detailed knowledge and understanding of relevant technical disciplines.

They possess a strong academic or technical background in their chosen field and are proactive in the development of their knowledge externally.

Has the ability to identify and scope work for others with high level estimates of effort

Has excellent communication skills (written and verbal) so they can influence the work of others.

They proactively collaborate with stakeholders of all levels and across cross-functional teams.

Has a bachelor or masters degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering, design or science discipline or relevant work experience. At least 6 to 8 years of experience in relevant fields, especially in Software development

They own and resolve complex technical challenges in partnership with stakeholders drawn from across cross-functional teams.

Accountabilites

An Associate Principal Engineer is proactive in the design and improvement of robust solutions and resolutions of technical challenges as projects and technology are developed. They actively participate as advisers in milestone and design/research reviews.They proactively identify technical risks within projects and influence and work with cross-functional teams to resolve them.They identify gaps in current processes or capability and implement new processes or process improvement initiatives to fill those gaps.They disseminate their technical knowledge and best practice, influencing the development of individuals within their functional area.

Problem space and accountability is usually across scrum teams, and may be across ARTs for a software feature where interactions and dependencies need to be proactively managed. Trusted to lead and own the delivery of a software design solution for a feature and resolves issues

Cross Software collaboration and interactions should be developed

Any issues should be captured within the ART domain
