About the role:

Looking for experienced and highly skilled senior marketing manager, who thrives in a high paced, dynamic environment, has passion for new technology and consumer products, and has skillset to implement the latest marketing strategies. 

The Sr. Marketing manager will lead every facet of a product or a projects journey including: positioning, competitive analysis, feature prioritization, marketing campaigns, promotions, media plans, and PR, helping to shape the brand and help it grow.  Working with a cross-functional team across Sales, Media, PR/Communications, Legal, Graphics, Retail Marketing, Training, and our Group Commercial team in the UK are essential. Representing the team with executive team and expertise in storytelling are crucial.  Build and driving strategies from beginning to end are imperative with expertise with new product launches and campaign development and execution.  Strong leadership skills and experience managing others to ensure team growth, motivation, and output remain high.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead market category advocate, championing the category products and opportunity both internally and with our retailers and partners
  • Develop and execute clear and compelling marketing plans which will drive incremental sales growth, share gains and positive brand attributes
  • Manage existing and new product launches
  • Work with sales in and sales out organization on product positioning, pricing, promotion, in-store execution, training, and events
  • Develop the media strategy, channel plan, monitor budget and review ROI of media spend, working closely with media team and agency
  • Work with both market Center of Excellence and group/global counterparts on creative asset development for campaigns, launches, website creation, and content development
  • Develop, communicate and gain buy-in for the category strategy from stakeholders across the business (both Group and US), and ensure progress against the plan is well communicated
  • Ensure monthly and yearly volume, net revenue and margin targets are met, closely monitoring the P&L and production forecast for the category

 Campaign Development:

  • Create marketing plan for the year to support key seasonality, new products, and events
  • Ensure alignment across all marketing channels on key consumer targets and marketing objectives
  • Create all briefs for creative needs and asset development with internal creative teams
  • Manage media plan and execution with agency and internal teams
  • Lead social content creation and integration within organization – brief, production, management of results and optimization throughout campaign
  • Develop content partnerships with media partners to develop content to support our marketing objectives
  • Manage events and partnerships with other brands and organizations to further support our marketing objectives

Product Range & New Product Management:

  • Manage all aspects of bringing new products and technology to market to ensure successful launches
  • Be the internal champion for the product, for core Dyson technology and for Dyson brand values
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the market team (retail, media, sales, customer services and marketing) to maximize the impact the category/ product has on consumers and retailers.
  • Work with sales partners to develop and activate range plans, marketing plans and trade activation and drive retailer compliance in stores.
  • Drive internal and external training to ensure understanding and advocacy of the technology and features across all channels
  • Partner with Retail team to develop instore POS and displays

Sales Partnership:

  • Work with commercial marketing team members and sales partners to develop and activate range plans, marketing plans and trade activation and drive retailer compliance in stores.
  • Partner with Retail team to develop and deliver sales presentations and materials to ensure retail success
  • Manage escalated issues as they arise
  • Brainstorm new opportunities for increased sales that drive the brand

Budget Management:

  • Manage the category marketing budget on monthly basis
  • Partner with Finance to lead the annual marketing planning and budgeting process for assigned category
  • Provide monthly insight into the business forecasting cycle including appropriate volume forecasting and business trends
  • Negotiate partner programs and media content partnerships
  • Evaluate ROI of marketing campaigns and adjust plans as necessary

    About you:

    • 8-12 years strategic brand marketing experience required, at least 2 of which must be in a manager level role; evidence of consistent progression in responsibility required.
    • Bachelor’s Degree required; preferably in Marketing, Advertising or Business Administration
    • Experience with consumer products and/or retail required.
    • A consumer technology / electronics background is strongly preferred but would be open to other experience such as health and CPG experience, specifically with an understanding of the premium / luxury market.
    • Beauty experience and professional salon knowledge is highly desired
    • Strong communication skills; this person is able to present information (both written and oral) clearly and concisely. This person needs to be able to communicate clearly at all levels within an organization.
    • Team player; able to manage and motivate people, this person is able to build strong relationships with a wide range of people (across all Dyson markets). This person works cooperatively across the business and puts the good of the business above their own career interests.
    • Strategic thinking; this person must demonstrate the ability to take a wide view. Must be able to create, execute and manage a sound marketing plan.
    • Problem Solving; must be able to critically analyze data and tackle problems and present viable solutions
    • Influencing skills; this person will have the ability to lead cross functionally and influence up, down and across the business.
    • Flexibility; this person will need to adaptable, be open to taking on more and have the ability to adapt plans and direction as the business indicates.
    • Entrepreneurial spirit- must be able to deal with ambiguity and willing to take risks as needed.
    • Be passionate about the product- this person needs to be passionate about Dyson, technology and engineering.
    • Project management skills- this person must be able to manage budgets and deadlines – and plan, achieve and evaluate results individually and through others.
    • Ability to travel occasionally as required.
