Dyson, whether at the UK base in Malmesbury or globally, is growing at a rapid pace, and the estates team need to not only anticipate this growth, but also ensure that both new and existing properties are set up, operated and maintained to the expected standard. To create this positive, professional, safe and progressive working environment the estates team needs strong teams in key areas – Facilities is one of these areas. Our Stores Controller is a new but essential role within the Facilities Function.

As the UK Stores Manager, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of the end to end UK campus storage strategy and policy, whilst reviewing periodically. You will be fully accountable for ensuring all Dyson functions are aware of the storage process whilst defining service levels for the service on offer. You will be responsible for faster moving storage solutions, such as Laboratory Space constraints and Film Studio Storage amongst any other storage requests that come from within the business.


About The Role

  • Introduce an electronic archiving management system which will be used to generate and maintain a detailed accurate inventory of all items in storage
  • Identifying suitable storage locations across our campuses, including third party solutions when required that would align with customer requirements and our own SLA’s
  • Produce monthly KPI report to reflect storage service level
  • Liaise with other key business partners including; Security, Intellectual Property and Legal
  • Periodically conduct reviews with Legal and Security to manage expiration of patents and evaluate the long-term storage requirements of any stored property
  • Collaborate with Dyson’s Sustainability Team to implement a waste/recycling process
  • Own and proactively manage third party storage related supplier relationships 
  • Recommend and Implement varying storage solutions to match demand
  • Retrieving archived pallets from 3rd party storage, taking accountability and ownership in identifying business owners and suitable action (continue to store or arrange disposal)
  • Collaborating with Estates facilities team to send/retrieve pallets to and from storage location
  • Updating owners on estimated time of delivery whilst meeting SLAs
  • Regular reviews and audits of all storage areas across the campuses
  • Supporting wider UK sites with storage solutions
  • Hours: Mon-Thur 8.00-4.30 Fri 8.00-3.30
  • Manage viewing area across our storage locations, providing escorted access and ensure the area in not left unattended with inventory updated accordingly.
  • As Stated above this is a new role to the business, and this would be a base to the role which will grow with the business requirements. 
  • This is a management role however does not have line management responsibilities.
