Dyson has been growing tremendously in the past and have ambitious target for our future growth in the coming years. To support it, we constantly evaluate our current manufacturing and procurement strategy, design and implement our GSC strategy aligning with Dyson blueprint and product range plans. In a recent Board meeting, the Dyson board has approved the business case of us further expanding our global manufacturing supply network. This role is created primarily to lead the project from planning to execution.

About the role

The role requires the candidate to manage the end-to-end programme deliverables and make sure all programme cadence is defined and managed. The candidate will lead the cross-functional team in terms of meeting programme targets (cost, time, quality), and manage the programme at function head & SteerCo and senior executive level.

The successful outcome of the project is not only the on-time and on-budget establishment of the manufacturing operations in the designated site, but also ensuring full handover to sustaining operations.

This is a role that leads one of the most important Dyson strategic programmes in a global level with stakeholders from but not limited to Markets, Quality, RDD, Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling, Procurement, Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Commercial, Finance, Legal, HR, IT, Facility, Security, Customs, Tax & Treasury etc.

Accountabilities

The primary responsibility and accountability of this role is to plan strategically and execute the diversification project deliverables cross-functionally. Detailed responsibilities include:

  • Programme Cadence and governance – Manage the programme at the agreed cadence and structure, and make necessary adjustments through SteerCo.

  • Project Management – Work with workstream leads to ensure timely delivery across all functions. Lead workstream on business transformation and people

  • Time Management – Define and manage programme timeline aligning with all programme stakeholders’ deliverables

  • Cost Management – Work closely with finance team, ensure the programme are properly managed from cost perspective (CAPEX and OPEX), as well as business case target being met. Work closely with commercial and procurement team to define and execute the localisation plan to reduce DDU cost over time

  • Stakeholder Management – Ensure all stakeholder deliverables are in line with programme target, and manage exceptions through the right cadence

  • Issue & Risk Management – Programme issue and risk management following Operations Office governance.

About you

  • Degree in Engineering

  • Further experience and/or qualification in a business discipline such as MBA, Programme or Project Management, Change Management, for example.

  • Knowledge and experience in setting up manufacturing operations, an advantage

  • 7-10 years’ experience leading complex Project/Program management, at the corporate level is desired; Competent in project management fundamentals

  • Proven ability to lead and co-ordinate team activity in multifunctional environment as well as successfully manage multiple teams with a collaborative/mentoring style. Able to guide and mentor a team of cross-functional management staff plus strong leadership qualities with a high level of integrity.

  • Ability to recruit, develop, and motivate personnel in order to balance staffing strength with profitability and growth. Good interpersonal skills totally committed to high team achievement.

  • Good decision-making abilities, ability to create accountability and lead by example.

  • Strong skills and experience partnering with leaders in the business – identifying needs and finding solutions that multiple leaders can agree on

  • Excellent communication skills with good command of written & spoken English, ability to communicate professionally and effectively with varying levels of internal and external contacts

  • Positive outlook and strength of character to work through ambiguous business and technical problems with multiple and varied stakeholders.
