About the role

As the S&A Planning Manager you will lead the end-to-end planning function for Dyson US spares parts & accessories (S&A). This includes oversight of the demand plan for refurb, consumer, and repair usage as well as working with our supply chain team in Southeast Asia to ensure they can support our demand in a timely manner. You will be responsible for ensuring optimal inventory levels are met to support our customers while achieving KPI targets. You will act as an inspirational leader who will coach, guide and hold accountable the S&A team.

Oversee the forecasting function for S&A inventory
  • Manage the monthly demand planning cycle for approximately 4,600 spare parts and accessories
  • Maintain oversight of the statistical forecast output from Dyson’s planning system, Kinaxis Rapid Response, and review adjusted demand based on trends and market intelligence 
  • Ensure demand for our refurbishment operation is properly captured to support the production line, including usage rate validation
  • Utilize new technology enhancements as a conduit for developing faster and smarter demand planning processes
  • Oversee the market specific fixed data components in Dyson’s planning system 
  • Manage forecasts for items that fall outside of the routine forecast process, such as new SKU launches, parts distribution changes, new Dyson Service Center openings, etc.
Ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained
  • Collaborate and partner with the Southeast Asia planning team so that product is in the right place at the right time
  • Oversee the monthly supply planning review process
  • Meet working capital KPI’s by optimizing inventory levels
  • Manage peak season S&A plans, partnering closely with the Direct team
  • Drive customer service improvement by minimizing out of stocks
Effectively partner with internal and external teams to meet customer needs
  • Facilitate a collaborative environment with internal cross-functional teams
  • Partner with the Dyson refurb Operational and Sales teams to ensure proper S&A stock levels to meet refurb forecast and production line needs
  • Engage in regular collaborations with Dyson’s third-party warehouses, partner and develop analyses of S&A needs, and drive process improvements
  • Partner with the Direct and Demand Planning teams to ensure inventory availability on tools
Strategically lead the S&A Planning function and drive continuous improvement
  • Develop and recommend improvements to current operating procedures; take initiative to resolve issues by developing and executing solutions
  • Be forward thinking and action oriented to propel improvements
  • Demonstrate strong reporting and analytical skills, including publishing a monthly dashboard of KPI’s to senior leadership
  • Be adaptable and relish the opportunity to pick up new activities, special projects, and ad hoc analyses that fall broadly in the purpose of the role
Inspire, actively manage, and motivate the S&A Planning team
  • Be supportive, enthusiastic, and lead by example
  • Communicate clear priorities and required results; provide consistent support and regular feedback
  • Build bench strength; identify gaps in knowledge and drive appropriate training solutions

About you

Experience and Education
  • Bachelor’s degree required – Supply Chain, Operations Management, or Logistics major preferred
  • 6+ years’ experience in a supply chain role required, consumer goods organization experience preferred
  • Proven experience analyzing and resolving inventory related issues
  • SAP and Kinaxis Rapid Response experience strongly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Supply Chain (S&OP/IBP, planning, inventory) processes and systems
Skills
  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with Southeast Asia Supply Planning team and 3PLs as well as all levels of the organization
  • Solutions oriented; helps minimize impact and deliver results
  • Advanced knowledge / proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external teams
  • High level of aptitude for business math, numerical reasoning, and creative problem solving
  • Adaptable and flexible; able to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities effectively
