Dyson create products which are different and better than the competition. These solutions are increasingly complex and require a system approach. We’re rapidly expanding our New Product Innovation team to help us manage that complexity and ultimately get our new ideas to market sooner.
About the role
Work at the core of our 'New Product Innovation' teams using systems level oversight and tools to identify opportunities and innovative solutions.
Define the core user needs and be responsible for the delivery of product requirement documents which convey these.
Lead the process of identifying and classifying risks related to new concepts.
Use MBSE methods to create product architectures. Decomposing the problem into digestible functional, physical and behavioural chunks.
Build product system simulations to help define and predict the performance of our new concepts.
Analyse the results of complex system calculations, summarise and communicate these with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
Work collaboratively with the research and development teams to clarify the full product system requirements and deliverables.
Challenge and develop Dyson engineering practices to continuously improve design quality.
Mentor and coach more junior team members, championing best practice.

Relevant experience in a product development environment performing a similar role.
A solid grasp of requirements setting, systems engineering and system architecture.
Hands on experience with simulation and systems analysis using tools such as Simscape/Simulink and MATLAB.
Some experience building architectural models in SysML using tools like Sparx EA.
A good engineering degree (or equivalent) in a related discipline.
