Business Application Services (BAS)

Dyson’s Global IT applications service has end-to-end accountability for the design, delivery and support of all business applications enabling Dysons global commercial, operational and enterprise business process. Forming a large proportion of the IT Function, the team are arranged into investment areas including Owner Experience and Retail, Engineering Operations, (Product development, Supply Chain and Manufacturing) and Enterprise (Finance, Legal, Compliance, HR).

About the role

The Business Applications Service Operations practice works closely prioritise and coordinate infrastructure requirements for application service designs in line with future trends and EA/SA strategies and roadmaps
Working with technical teams and Service Owners to provision sufficient budget for Application Services infrastructure investment planning, maintenance and/or service risk acceptance.
Coordinating BAS infrastructure technical resourcing and change schedules across different DevOps work-streams (projects/prioritise activities for infrastructure stability and reduction of technical debt
Providing stewardship for the robustness and maturity of Dysons application services infrastructure through technical governance with IT Teams, Strategic Partners and Business Stakeholders - including provisioning of BAS infrastructure size and utilization, monitoring/alerting, capacity, redundancy and database backups and failure point recovery objectives.
Planning BAS infrastructure upgrades, maintenance schedules and technical changes - including coordination of service outages

About you


Advocate of business change and innovation..

  • Ability to influence others and communicate with impact at senior levels across the organisation
  • Ability to lead the resolution of SharePoint, Teams, Confluence, Jira.
  • Experience of Atlassian tools - including confluence / Jira.
  • Experience of continuous delivery through agile design, development and test.
  • Experience of on-perm/cloud/cloud auto-scale/SaaS/PaaS strategic solutions.
  • Experience of 3rd party vendor performance management.
