We are looking for people to help us investigate robust solutions to diverse real-world problems in robotics. Successful candidates will be working in a supportive environment within a team of experts that is constantly aiming to improve itself and the world of robotics.
About the role
As a technician, you will join our growing team. Every day you will work with robotics engineers (in various fields of application including mechanics, electronics and electromagnetic), to:
assemble complex mechatronic systems
identify and debug problems in products
build automated ad-hoc fixtures with the design team to measure system performances
lead the mechanical laboratory
The candidate will have the opportunity to learn and use devices and software, such as thermal cameras, high speed cameras, 3D scanners, microcontrollers, custom hardware.
Manufacture complex robotic systems, sub-systems (including actuators, mechanical structure and electronics components) and test benches
Perform all functions associated to the production of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies, such as:
working with engineers in set up, calibration and troubleshooting
identifying weaknesses fixes and improvements
reworking parts and retrofitting them (with machined/CNC parts for instance)
giving feedback to the design team
Build and run experiments on test benches
Measure, collect and process design and environment data
Manage the mechanical laboratory, oversee the equipment (tools and components)
Degree or comparable technical qualification
Strong hands-on attitude, mechanical workshop skills (press, oven)
Experience assembling, repairing, reworking, and/or testing mechatronic assemblies
Knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering and design
Machining skills (lathe, CNC)
Organised and methodical in their work
Basics of electronics and mechanical measurements
Inventory parts and tools used in the assembling process
Previous experience testing products for defects, debugs failures and anomalies
Collaborative approach to working together
Electronics workshop skills
Basics of microcontroller programming (Arduino-like controllers)
You are resourceful, open minded and a very much hands-on person.
You are independent, creative and crave to learn and experiment.
