As part of Dyson GPVT Team (Global Product Verification and Test), Test Systems Team play an integral part in determining how we validate these new technologies and products to ensure these designs are robust to real world conditions.  This position is in GPVT - Test Systems Team to develop new test rig, automate current processes to deliver more effective and efficient outcomes. In generally this position will involve in verification of Mechanical, Electronics and Performance of a product; enabling it by developing test systems solutions. Responsible for supporting the delivery of resolutions to problems using prescribed guidelines and procedures with a good knowledge of own discipline and/or supporting the execution of small to medium, low complex projects.

About You

  • Design and develop functional test systems and solutions.
  • Identify and configure test equipment needed
  • Able to provide a good engineering solution towards technical issues that may arise during development of test methods.
  • Integrate, install and commission test systems in R&D and manufacturing environments
  • Continuously improve test capability in term of capacity, space and cost.
  • Pro-actively involved in NPI & liaise project team to support them by understanding the requirements, issues and to provide result verification when necessary
  • Manage new technology transfer for new products and transfer test systems between sites in timely and efficient manner
  • Assist the team on developing automated process to improve current practices and outcomes. 

About You

  • Able to advice correct hardware for building test rigs based on testing environment. (pneumatic, spring, motor, valve, load cell, actuator etc.).
  • Hands-on experience on test systems / rig development. Able to identify suitable mechanical parts, devices, motors, tools material and integrate them on test systems
  • Have solid fundamental mechanical engineering-based knowledge, concept of solid mechanics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics and able to apply them into making of test systems
  • Strong knowledge in mechanical safety and have applied them onto making of test systems
  • Knowledge in simulation software (ANSYS, MATLAB), programming software (labview, arduino, python, java, html, android studio, PLC) or hands-on experience in 3D-Printer machining, grinder or driller would be an added advantage
  • Able to design test systems / rig solutions through CAD, Mechanical Design and fabricate it
