About the role

Reporting to the Head of Logistics, the Transportation Manager contributes to the Logistics development of the region with leading the domestic and cross-border transportation execution across the regional network, with focus on service, cost and sustainability. He/she  will ensure that the long-term strategy for the region is supported by the  Logistics provider base and will work on increasing capability both internally and externally via various process and system improvement projects to achieve the ambitious growth targets.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead the domestic and cross-border transportation execution across the regional network, delivering best in industry service, sustainability, and productivity
  • Ensure Dyson is delivering innovative market leading service and solutions for our customers, both internal and external
  • Develop a deep understanding of logistics cost to serve in the region, and the levers that are available to reduce this, or to maximise service level

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive the implementation of the Logistics strategy
  • Deploy and develop all aspects of Road Transportation execution and transformation regionally with the goal of improving overall cost efficiency, and ensuring all regulatory compliance measures are met within regional guidelines
  • Execute the global digitized transportation plan, to drive optimal customer service and key metrics (On Time Delivery, CO2 reduction, technical productivity initiatives, enhanced and optimized network design, reduced damages, and claims)
  • Support the framework for more effective and efficient contract negotiations with domestic and international road transportation providers working tightly with global logistics and indirect procurement
  • Drive road transport sustainability in line with our committed targets for carbon abatement
  • Maintain a high level of supplier engagement to ensure that we execute and enhance our carrier performance management programs. Drive high quality performance through all carriers to improve customer satisfaction and reduced damage and claims, by ensuring suppliers are well aligned to our business model
  • Lead with a digital mindset for all of Dysons strategic initiatives, bringing real time visibility of road transport to the Global Control Tower
  • Ensure strong partnership with Customs & Compliance, and corporate governance teams to ensure any regulations for both Import and Export are rigidly followed, as well as Dangerous Goods transit
  • Develop a Lead Transport Provider (LTP) program in the region with a strategic partner who can both support our digitization agenda, and our sustainability targets
  • Sponsor key transport transformation projects
  • Support a culture of accountability and employee engagement across all market organizations within the region
  • Effectively manage internal and external stakeholder performance, set specific goals and expectations
  • Mentor/coach identified talent within the organization and identify training needs and opportunities to develop a highly skilled functional department
  • Ensure Continuous Improvement mentality is championed and implemented in Market Logistics teams.  Ensure Logistics processes are optimised, documented and followed
  • Relish the opportunity to pick up new activities that fall broadly in the purpose of the role.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business Management, Global Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in transportation management
  • Project management and project sponsor experience essential
  • Strong understanding of a matrixed network a definite plus
  • Customs and Dangerous goods experience is a plus
  • Strong understanding of carbon efficiency in transportation
  • Demonstratable understanding of continuous improvement tools and techniques
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Financially savvy with Business Case experience
  • CPC or similar certificate of transport competency is preferred
  • P&L competent
  • Attention to details without losing bigger picture
  • Ability to deliver under pressure and to tight deadlines
