The Global Aftersales team is integral to the set up, coordination and implementation of a complex Supply Chain Refurbishment operation. They plan, implement and control efficient flow of returns and storage of goods, producing high quality and optimal output of refurbishment, and related activities between the point of returns and the point of refurbishments ready for sale to meet sales requirements. Join us as an intern and from day one, you’ll be tasked with projects to enhance your existing skills and stretch you out of your comfort zone.
At our UK Technology Campus, we have an opportunity for a 12-month year in industry (starting in August 2022), for penultimate year students who are eager to play a key part in bringing the next generation of Dyson technology to the world.
About the role
Reporting to the Europe Refurbishment Planning/Global Transformation Lead, the Global Aftersales Placement Intern will oversee a supply chain aftermarket project that looks into improving refurbishment goods available for sale, thus its processes through the development and analytics of standard KPIs for refurbishment. This role will work closely with Dyson Global Supply Chain Planning, Dyson Inventory Managers and Local Markets, and Operations and Partner Vendors team and operations functions globally. You will actively carry out the following activities whilst working towards greater independence over the course of your internship.
Support the development of standard KPIs for refurbishment and their integration with an aftersales balanced scorecard, beginning with operations in Europe and the Americas.
Analytics for improvement on returns projection (Finished Goods).
Analytics and reporting on components (Spares and Accessories).
Inventory level and lead-time, and determine recommendation of safety stock level.
Work with Partner Refurbishment Vendor and Global Spares and Accessories team on spares and accessories planning analysis, to improve mechanisms to create optimal synchronization in demand plans and inventory management.
Measuring and highlighting improvements in optimizing refurbishment and S&A performance to include utilizing a segmentation of products, example critical spares and inventory location optimization, e.g. for parts to consider and define DDMRP approach.
For the duration of your internship, you will have regular performance conversations as well as opportunities for development to enable you to build your reputation within the team, and this could be just the start. We’ll be looking to offer our high performing interns to return on one of our graduate programs.
About you

Be studying towards a relevant degree discipline. This can be in any subject area, but motivation and attitude are important to us, and you will need to be able to demonstrate a passion for data analytics
Be able to commit to a 12-month placement, commencing in August 2022
Be able to thrive in Dyson’s fast-paced environment
Passionate about Dyson and our technology to help us meet our ambitious future plans
Excellent analytical skills and problem solving skills
Background in business planning, forecasting and reporting is preferred
Prior experience working in a supply chain is a plus
Demonstrate flexibility and resilience in response to constraints and respond constructively to new demands and challenges
Advanced knowledge/proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is highly preferred
Above all, you’ll want to play a key part in bringing the next generation of Dyson technology to the world.
