About The Role:
An Assistant Sales Manager plays a crucial role in assisting the Zonal Sales Manager to achieve sales targets, maintain customer relationships, and ensure smooth sales operations within the organization. The position involves overseeing day-to-day sales activities, supporting the sales team, analyzing market trends, and contributing to the overall growth of the business.
Responsibilities
Sales Strategy and Support
- Assist the Zonal Sales Manager in developing and implementing effective sales strategies to achieve business objectives.
- Collaborate with the sales team to monitor individual performance and provide guidance.
- Support sales goals by identifying new opportunities and suggesting improvements to current sales techniques/processes.
Team Leadership
- Train, mentor, and motivate sales representatives to enhance their performance and professional development.
- Act as a point of contact for the sales team, addressing their needs and concerns promptly.
Customer Relationships
- Assist in building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Address customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback to ensure satisfaction and brand loyalty.
Market Analysis
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitors, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide sales forecasts and develop reports to help the Sales Manager evaluate market conditions and sales goals.
Sales Operations
- Coordinate with internal teams (marketing, finance, logistics, etc.) to ensure seamless sales operations.
- Oversee inventory management and ensure products/services are delivered on time.
Reporting
- Prepare regular sales reports with insights and recommendations for the Sales Manager and senior leadership.
- Track and analyze sales performance metrics to evaluate team success and identify areas for improvement.
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Proven experience in sales roles, with a strong track record of success and progression.
- Previous experience as a team lead or assistant manager is preferred.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in sales tools, CRM software, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to assess challenges and find effective solutions.
- Knowledge of market trends and business acumen.
