A lifelong education

At Dyson we'll challenge and encourage you to think differently. To push the boundaries and defy convention. Although James Dyson studied at the Royal College of Art, his passion for engineering was encouraged by his mentor Jeremy Fry, the inventor and engineer. For his final year project he built the Sea Truck, a high speed, flat-hulled fibreglass landing craft. It was the start of his lifelong career as an inventor. And he's always wanted young people to feel inspired in the same way he was.

Application process

If you think a career at Dyson could be for you, you'll first need to apply with a short form to help us find out more about you, your studies and experiences to date, and what you want to do here. If we think you'll flourish here, we'll ask you to complete some challenging online assessments and undertake a short digital interview. What to expect

Whichever programme you select, you'll be trusted with real work and responsibility from the outset. High benchmarks are set. You'll have the opportunity to work directly with world-class experts and senior leaders – potentially James and Jake Dyson directly – and with specialist teams across the globe. At Dyson we recognise the value of learning through critical experiences; developing technical knowledge and commercial know-how along the way. You'll not sit still for long. You'll move through roles and responsibilities designed to build the career you want, and the skills we need, but our programmes remain flexible. Your early career experience can flex to meet the business needs, and your ambitions.

We'll prepare you for working here

We'll keep in touch, connect you with others online and in person. We run summer events where you can meet your peers, and help you get ready to move and transition to the world of work.

You'll start with a bang

Our 'New Talent' week induction provides your Dyson immersion. You'll have plenty of opportunity to network with those across the business – making friends, meeting 'buddies' and managers – and getting set up for success. As well as being launched into your teams, you'll discover our history, products and ways of working.

But that's just the start

You're in the driving seat of your career, but there's development support throughout your programme. We'll help identify where you should be going and how you get there. And there will be plenty of opportunity to grow your networks, showcase what you've achieved and be stretched beyond your day job. All aimed at helping you identify where you see your future career.
