This is an exciting new chapter for Dyson in the Philippines. You will be a key player in building the communications to support this journey ahead.
About the role
In this role, based in the Philippines at our Global Technology Campus in Santo Tomas, Batangas, you will report to the Global Internal Communications Director, in a team that defines how we communicate and engage with our employees across the world. You will be joining at a pivotal time as we look to refocus and grow both our internal communications agenda and initiatives while also building our external reputation.
As Communications and Engagement Senior Manager, you will help to manage Dyson’s internal communications and engagement agenda for our employees in the Philippines, while also strengthening Dyson’s leadership position, as a global technology company, externally to media and Government stakeholders. You will develop a plan that energises and excites our people in the Philippines and connects them to our senior leaders, to what’s going on around the company and brings our strategy and employee experience to life
We are looking for someone who is hands-on and excited to tell Dyson’s stories and to inspire pride amongst local employees, while providing strong on-site communications support for the local Philippines Site Manager and local leadership team. The ideal candidate will be a creative thinker and organized doer, is strong on project management, problem solving, managing moving deadlines, is self-motivated and confident in dealing with senior leaders.
Key responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of the Philippines internal communications strategy, campaigns, product and change communications.
Plan, create, review, and deliver all Philippines internal messages, ensuring clarity and alignment with the global Internal Communications Centre of Excellence.
Set and maintain standards of excellence and best practice for communications with the necessary structure and governance for all internal communications and employee engagement activities.
Build relationships across the Philippines and use these networks to find and develop interesting stories and creative ideas.
Lead the planning, co-ordination, and delivery of memorable internal events and engagement opportunities (e.g., town halls, local forums, product launches, site leader engagement, celebrations etc) for Dyson in the Philippines.
Support the local leadership team in building authentic connections with employees.
Look for local opportunities to build moments of pride and employee recognition.
External Communications
Shape and implement strategies to build, enhance, and protect Dyson’s reputation.
Support speaking opportunities and support senior leaders in external engagements.
Monitor and respond to media coverage about Dyson, including incident and reputation management.
Advise and support the local team in engaging journalists; act as brand guardian for local agencies to ensure accurate messaging.
Collaborate with Corporate Affairs, Reputation Director (East), and group comms to identify and manage emerging issues and crises.
Assist in local corporate affairs outreach, including briefings and event logistics.
Serve as the local contact for government stakeholders and support the Site GM on political and regulatory communications.
About you
At least 10 -12 years of relevant experience in communications, ideally internal or employee communications, in a global business.
Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with a strong ability to influence and partner at all levels, including C-suite.
Proven track record dealing with short deadlines and working in high pressure situations to drive outcomes in the best interest of the company.
Is proactive and has a ‘get things done’ attitude with high levels of resilience and drive, able to see the strategic big picture but also to roll sleeves up and get into the detail.
Ability to build and effect change – at both a people and process level.
Energetic, engaging with ability to motivate and inspire in a matrixed environment.
Assertive, decisive and prepared to see through plans - and yet flexible around change and comfortable with ambiguity, a quick and agile learner.
