About us
We build and test the heart of most Dyson products – the Dyson Digital Motor – on a scale of 1 unit every 2 seconds – 24hours a day, 7 days a week, with around 350 people working together in fully-automated manufacturing lines, composed of engineers, planners, operators, inspectors, and technicians equipped with Lean Manufacturing expertise and Six Sigma methodologies to help solve problems that others ignore.
About the role
An intern may be assigned to any role within the Global Supply Chain (In-house Manufacturing) Operations.
Operations Intern
As an Operations Intern, you will be immersed in a fast-paced, innovative environment, working closely with the Production and Continuous Improvement team. You will be contributing to key projects that optimize workflows, enhance efficiency, and refine production processes for our advanced Dyson Digital Motors.
Day-to-day, you will have the opportunity to analyse data, propose problem solutions, and support initiatives that drive continuous improvement on the production floor. You will be learning to think critically and seeing how your ideas translate into real-world results, gaining hands-on experience far beyond classroom theory.
Product Engineering Intern
At DDM QA & Product Engineering, quality is the core of everything we do. Our team plays a critical role in ensuring every Dyson Digital Motor (DDM) meets our high standards of performance and reliability. Operating in a fast-paced, fully automated production environment, we leverage tools like Statistical Process Control (SPC) to monitor and improve processes in real-time. Leveraging dashboards built in Power BI, our data-driven QA approach ensures efficiency at every stage.
As an Intern specializing in In-Process Quality Control, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Power BI dashboards, you’ll join our efforts to drive consistent quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement in our production environment. You will collaborate with the QA and Product Engineering teams to build insights from manufacturing data and contribute to initiatives that improve process reliability and product integrity.
Your role will involve collecting and analysing key production data, monitoring in-process quality metrics through SPC systems, and enhancing Power BI dashboards to streamline decision-making and reporting. You’ll learn to identify deviations, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement, ensuring proactive steps are taken to maintain and elevate production quality.
Day-to-day activities might include conducting real-time quality monitoring using machines & SPC tools, supporting root cause analysis for quality non-conformances, developing and refining Power BI dashboards for real-time reporting and visualization of production metrics and analysing trends.
Our internship programme connects academic theory with practical experience. Gain valuable insights into professional applications through mentorships with our industry-leading experts and exposure to cutting-edge practices. Join us for a transformative journey where theory meets application, guided by the industry’s best minds!
