Lead Design Engineer, Pump and Fluid Systems – New Category, Singapore

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Lead Design Engineer within the Design Engineering function based at St James Power Station, you will be joining an innovative & dynamic team, supporting the realisation and growth of a new product category for Dyson.
You will be focused on leading the planning and delivery of Pump’s and Fluid systems to help the iterative development of sub-systems and full product solutions, from proof of concept to validation and verification rigs.
With high level of technical competence and attention to detail you will need to have an outstanding focus on quality and process, both the ability to define/document and to provide technical oversight, coaching and quality control.
Working alongside other teams you will need to collaborate as part of a global team, engaging with our category & support teams to help define requirements and deliver solutions.
You will role model the Dyson values and help create a high-performance culture.
Working within Dyson Processes, Quality Management system, standards, and regulatory requirements such as FDA and ISO13485 etc.
Identifying, prioritising, and managing risk to deliver design engineering solutions on time, cost, and spec.
Leading robust and coherent integration of innovative pump and fluid system solutions through close collaboration with hardware, software, and technical development teams.
Applying theory, data & intuition to make sound design & engineering judgements & proposals.
Contributing to the development of the team’s capability & growth by providing constructive feedback to line-managers, as well as mentoring more junior members of the team.
A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
Demonstrated ability to apply robust technical knowledge in the delivery of consumer product Pump and fluid systems from defining requirements through to verified solutions.
Analytical ability using statistical tools and analysis techniques: Design of Experiments, Measurement Systems Analysis, Root Cause analysis etc. (Six Sigma training or similar).
Practical knowledge of 3D CAD, PLM systems and analysis packages. Experience working with NX CAD, Siemens Team Centre and ANSYS suite of analysis tools, would be advantageous.
Knowledge of product /medical device regulations and design control processes. (FDA GPM requirements noted in 21 CFR 820. ISO 13485 Quality System Requirements)
Strong collaborator with an ability to influence others.
Proven Leadership abilities with excellent communication skills.
