We are looking for an enthusiastic Lead Systems Engineers to join our Product Technical Systems team in China. As a key player in our New Product Development organisation based at our Shenzhen office in China, you will be the primary contact between Dyson internal teams and ODM/JDM partners when it comes to topics concerning Systems Engineering.
Roles & Responsibilities
- They shall work at the core of our product development process and use established systems engineering tools and methods to bring clarity from ambiguity. They shall be the primary contact between Dyson internal teams and ODM/JDM partners when it comes to topics concerning Systems Engineering.
- They shall be responsible for translating our product vision into clear and concise user, business, and product requirements.
- Using MBSE methods to develop product architectures, decomposing the problem into digestible functional, physical, logical, and behavioural chunks.
- Creating unambiguous useable requirements for engineering teams to design to both internally within Dyson as well as at external development partners.
- Build and coordinate system wide simulations to help us balance requirements early.
- Work collaboratively with all our engineering teams to clarify work packages, manage trade-off studies, and resolve engineering issues. Ensure correctness and completeness of verification and validation activities.
- Lead and coach a growing core team of Systems Engineers of all levels of expertise. Coaching & Mentoring shall exist at all levels and in all directions within the team as it grows.
- Driving the Systems Engineering process and ethos into the wider company as required, educating other RDD employees in Systems Engineering to resolve technical challenges
- Follow a Leader-Leader mind-set, they shall work autonomously in a cross-functional team setup.
Qualifications
- A first degree in mechanical/mechatronics/electrical/electronics/software engineering
- Experience in Systems Engineering processes and applications with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a product development environment.
- Demonstrable experience in performing systems breakdown, architecture definition and using functional analysis techniques resulting in well written unambiguous requirements.
- Capable of working in an agile and autonomous manner.
- A good grasp of MBSE including experience building SysML models using Systems Engineering Modelling Software.
- Additionally, experience with Requirements Management Tools and Product Lifecycle Management tools is desirable but not essential.
- Experience managing requirements and product architectures when working with external development partners in an ODM/JDM setup is beneficial but not essential.
- A clear, logical thinker with attention to detail and an appreciation for engineering fundamentals and critical analysis.
- Great collaboration and communication skills.
