About us

Dyson’s Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the organisation’s contract manufacturing (CMs) supply network for the identified product/category technology.

About the role

This role ensures that the production of the product is efficient, cost effective, on time, in full and meets all the quality standards. As the Operations Manager, He / She acts as the subject matter expert of technologies applied in manufacturing the different category products. The Operations Manager engages with the different cross functional teams internally and externally to drive operations, innovations, efficiencies, agreed project and change management programs.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

The role reports to the Head of Operations for Philippines. Takes lead in terms of operations management at product/category level. The role is responsible for all operations meet the standards, implementing improvements to drive efficiency, mitigating risks by identifying them early and recommending actions, supporting OTIF delivery of products to the market by ensuring performance adherence and works cross functionally to execute innovations.

  • Works with RDD and NPD to ensure full understanding by the CM of all aspects of transferring a project into mass manufacturing phase ensuring obstacles are clearly resolved.

  • Drives delivery of innovation at mass manufacturing phase on time, on cost and on quality to ensure demand is met.

  • Drive adherence to the manufacturing plans for the products that have entered BAU production phase.

  • Works with CM to ensure FGs are available to adhere to the agreed CRD and loading date.

  • Monitors implementation plan of CM on CR/CN execution to ensure delivery on agreed time.

Production Management

  • Engage contract manufacturer, planning team and procurement team for clear to build status for the weekly demand.

  • Conduct daily performance review with contract manufacturer to ensure build, sku, crd and shipment adherence.

  • Drive continuous improvement program to drive productivity and efficiency working closely with ME, Quality and Automation Team from Contract Manufacturers.

New Product

  • Work with NPD to ensure all standards and requirements prior to project transfer are closed off.

  • Review and audit the CM for complying to agreed standards and requirements.

  • Conduct daily performance review on NPD to ensure build, sku, crd and shipment adherence.

Projects | Efficiency Program:

  • Drive Contract Manufacturer for implementation of CR/CN/DR/LX project execution proves through regular weekly synch-up.

  • Waste reduction and process improvement program

  • Change Management.

  • Provide leadership, coordination of assigned projects

Cost Projects Management

  • Ensure projects that are delivering a cost-benefit are reviewed/tracked to ensure benefits are realized.

  • Conduct risk assessment and mitigation and escalation for any risk associated to implementation.

About you

  • You must possess at least a Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related fields.

  • 10 years of working experience in an electronics-manufacturing environment.

  • Minimum 7-10 years+ experience in a managerial | leadership role.

  • Must have manufacturing experience or knowledge in moulding, painting, line jigs/fixture/testing equipment validation and qualification.

  • Excellent communication skills with good command of written and spoken English. 

  • Team player with a strong level of commitment to project deliverables.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of plastic injection mold tooling and/or line jigs/fixture/testing equipment validation & qualification.

  • Spray painting knowledge.

  • MS project knowledge.

  • Six Sigma Training.

  • Lean Manufacturing Principles- Understanding the principles of lean and how to apply to a manufacturing organization.

  • Cost control behaviors/business acumen.
